  • I’m running very late posting today. I went to my bariatric support group meeting today. Sometimes it’s hard to be there when I’m the only one that’s over 8 months post-op (2 years 9 months) and the only one who has had an RNY. BUT, I enjoy the counselor who runs the meeting (our discussion every month comes from Michelle May’s “Am I Hungry?”…[Read more]

  • Work is exciting. Thankfully the tired and negative attitudes that some of my Coworkers get have not set in yet. This year I am devising a plan to combat the grumpiness. I am the Meme Master and will be sending out Fun and positive reminders and such as the time goes on. The bulk of OT (Over Time) starts next week when people actually start…[Read more]

Thankfully it looks as if the bulk of overtime doesn’t start until next week so this week I can focus on prepping my home and fam and spending some extra time resting. We got the phone call last night that my Husbands bariatric Surgery has been approved. WOOHOO! hopefully, in the next couple of days, we will get a surgery date. I’m a little…[Read more]

  • Better than I really expected. Still stressed over my husband’s job situation but I think it will be at least next week before we hear about any more new developments.

  • <p style=”text-align: left;”>I’m a bit late posting today. I think that I’m just running behind on everything.</p>
Steps and liquids (I really need to work on my liquids), cleaning out the home office (sometimes I feel like I will never finish) and a couple of quick errands.

Breakfast was a power crunch protein bar

    Lunch with be deli…[Read more]

  • What do you use for organization? I am an EXTREMELY unorganized person. like VERY!

The things I need to organize the most are:

    Finances
    Schedule
    Ideas
    My Home.
    Work Projects

In the past I have occasionaly go on “binges” where I will try and orginize evertyhing at once and then i get overwhelmed and quit. I recognise this and I am trying to…[Read more]

    Breakfast was Eggs and toast

I want to get to bed a little earlier than usual because tomorrow is my “Meeting day” I spend the entire day in meetings and I need to be…[Read more]

  • I’m not even sure what day it is anymore. We have officially started Launch Season aka Konica falls off the planet. From Yesterday till after the first of the year work weeks top out at 60 hours (this year may be more) per week. so I am going to be taking this easy and work myself into it. I’m going to be nicer to myself than I have in years…[Read more]

  • Stress is definitely starting to take a toll on my husband and I. He’s eating too much and everything I eat or drink makes me feel sick to my stomach. Where I used to get about five hours of sleep a night, in the last two weeks it’s dropped to three. If his work would just tell us what’s going on, I could handle whatever it is. It’s the not…[Read more]

  • I was just thinking about 9/11 myself this morning.

Today’s a repeat of last week’s days. I’m still working on cleaning out the home office. I was obviously being extremely optimistic to think I was going to finish it in a week.

Walking, push-ups and planks are on the schedule.

Heading to my local library to renew my card. Being in the process…[Read more]

  • Where to start, where to start?

Walking, of course. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t walk! I started push-ups at the end of last week and will continue adding one to each set until I reach 25. Starting on the plank challenge Monday morning.

Continuing to work on not grazing my way through the day. I was doing well with that until Saturday when…[Read more]

  • It’s a gorgeous day in central Texas, also! Sunny and actually not too hot!

Today’s been a lazy one. Church, lunch out and a nap!

Breakfast was a Premier Protein shake (running late for church)

Lunch was a beef tostada without the crunchy tortilla (think mini taco salad)

    Dinner will be leftovers

    Bedtime snack – I don’t know yet

  • My nutritionist wants me to eat between 1300-1500 calories and have my carbs at around 100 grams. 50% of every meal is supposed to be protein. That’s all the guidance I have received. I have problems with getting above 1,000 calories most days which I know isn’t enough for how much I walk.

  • I’m so glad you’re feeling better, Nikki!

I’m having one of those mornings. In the wee hours, the lady that lives behind us let her dog(s) out. She turned on her backyard flood lights. Which woke up our dog who decided going out was a GREAT idea. Usually she wakes up my husband (he of the middle of the night Milkbones) but apparently this time it…[Read more]

  • Same ol’ stuff.

Rumors are as flying all around my husband’s work. The one that’s really picking up steam is about the layoffs on the 19th. Targeting the longer term employees who still have the pension plan. Of which my husband is one. Cut the employees that will cost the company down the road (and happen to have the bigger paychecks) and then…[Read more]

OK, so today was today. I got my migraine under control super fast (Woohoo Score one for the Daith Piercing) I got kids off to school ready for picture day with money and cold lunches in hand… other than I did have to run one kid out his lunch in my bare feet. I napped. then I went to work.

You all are gonna be SICK of hearing about Launch…[Read more]

  • Slowly, very slowly! However I discovered all the boxes that I was dreading going through are full of my mom’s cookbooks. I’m going to hold off on going through them and let my kids go through and pick out what they want.

Meals have definitely been on the quick and easy side, but I have also managed to keep them healthy.

I’m getting in too many…[Read more]

    1. I was going to say not well at all, but that’s not exactly true. So far, 5 of the boxes I’ve gotten to are packed with my Mom’s cookbooks. I’m going to let my kids go through them (all but my oldest who’s in Boston. I’ll go through them and pick out any vegetarian ones for her).  Afterwards, I’ll donate the rest to the local charity store. I…

  • I’m pretty much  diving in head first. I think that I will start at the door and try to work my way around the room. However, that’s very much subject to change!
