Karen, I was out in the wind for most of Saturday and Sunday. That’s why they’re so bad right now. I have even been flirting with earaches because of being in the wind so long. I’m planning on staying inside today, (easy to do as we have thunderstorms forecasted) and am already seeing an improvement!

I can definitely say that lack of sleep makes you hungrier! I’m lucky to get five hours of sleep a night. Unfortunately, it’s not in a solid block of time. It takes me a long time to get to sleep and then I wake up constantly through the night. It’s not fun.

Today, I’m getting a little bit of a late start. Ran an early errand as we are forecasted for severe weather later today. Spring thunderstorm season has officially arrived in central Texas! Right now I’m drinking my morning shake. It’s one of my favorites and I tend to fix this one more than most. It’s the Butterfinger Shake from Nikki’s Protein…[Read more]

Today has not been great. I was outside a lot this weekend and it was VERY windy so my allergies are getting the best of me. I didn’t sleep much last night and feel lousy. I have pretty much lived on protein shakes today. And sugar free Popsicles. So, I have my protein in but not a lot of calories. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I’m running late with this. This week I’m planning to keep working on keeping starchy carbs out of my food plan. That being said, I do allow them when I eat out if it makes the difference between getting to eat a decent meal or not. My husband is being great with helping me with this. I’m planning on keeping up with my steps if my allergies don’t…[Read more]

It’s a gorgeous day here after storms yesterday. It’s about ten degrees cooler than it has been so a very pleasant high in the 70’s. I’ve had my morning shake, but have no idea what the rest of my day will be like! My husband wants to go out to the shooting range. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to shoot this go round due to my shoulder.(I start…[Read more]

My day hasn’t started well. For some reason, my morning vitamin and meds made my pouch hurt big time. So, I didn’t have my shake like I usually do. I did get my one short errand run before the rain started. I’m finally having my shake. I know what dinner will be and its not only a favorite of mine but yummy besides. I don’t have a clue as to what…[Read more]

Hello, Nikki! I’m working on trying to figure out how to get my picture of my cheesecake posted. I’m totally inept at this kind of thing. I’m hoping that when my husband gets home, he can teach me!

Totally, totally not sappy!!! I remember the first time my husband was able to get his arms around me after my RNY! I had totally forgotten how good it felt. Now, I go in for a reminder as often as possible!!!

Today has started out much better than yesterday! I’ve been up and busy in the kitchen making double batches the Unjury peanut butter protein balls in both chocolate peanut butter and peanut butter and jelly. My mini protein cheesecakes are in the oven in the cooling stage. I’m a bit behind on my steps, bit I’ll catch up! And I’ve had almost…[Read more]

I woke up with a bad case of the “Don’t Wanna’s “ I don’t wanna get up today. I don’t wanna walk today. I don’t wanna drink water today. I don’t wanna eat on my food plan today. I just don’t wanna! However, I put on my big girl panties. I’m up, I’ve eaten a Quest bar for breakfast. I’ve had 20 ounces of water and I’ve walked over 2 miles so fa…[Read more]

It’s taken me a while to get to the point where I can be grateful today. It was not the greatest of days. However, I am grateful that the hour and a half it took to make a 30 minute drive, 45 minutes of which I was at a standstill on the interstate, was caused by a broken down RV and not by a wreck.
