Busy day. First church and then home to fix a nice lunch before my daughter had to head home. Then over to the house of the guy who shares my husband’s office. He had his big oak trees trimmed and we went over to get the limbs as their fireplace isn’t a wood burning one and ours is. So, we loaded all of the wood into the back of the pickup and…[Read more]

  • My day consisted of a trip to the grocery store with my daughter and lunch downtown at my daughter in law’s favorite Mexican restaurant. It was an early birthday celebration (her birthday is Monday) I had a great time with the grand babies and had some good food. Now we’re watching TV and I think that I’m about to head to bed because I have a…[Read more]

  • Holy Cow! We just got back from my husband’s back injection to the news about his work.

At the location that we’ve been consolidated with, over 100 managers have been fired. At our location, two entire departments have been fired. We’ve been told that for today, my husband’s department is okay. He cautiously thinks that some, if not all, will be…[Read more]

  • My middle child (aka younger daughter) is coming to visit today through Sunday. She’ll keep me company tomorrow in the waiting room while my husband gets his back injection. Saturday, she and I are going to get up early and go to the zoo while it’s still relatively cool. As I was putting clean sheets on the bed and a freshly washed blanket and…[Read more]

  • Today has started somewhat slowly, but I’m starting to pick up speed a little bit. I ate something yesterday that didn’t sit well at all. (I have know idea what as I didn’t have anything new to eat) I didn’t sleep well at all. I’m cautiously thinking things are better today.

I’m making progress on cleaning out the house. As soon as I get the rest…[Read more]

  • Congratulations! 🎈🎆🎇🎉🎊

  • That kind of tired makes perfect sense to me, Nikki. Sometimes I can’t even remember the last time I wasn’t that tired. But, because you can still function, you just keep on going. Yup. You have described my life!

Push-ups and planks are done (I have to confess, I seriously thought about skipping them today) and I have less than 1000 steps to go…[Read more]

  • I’m still working on cleaning out the house. Getting my steps done, push-ups and planks. I have 20 of my 80 ounces of liquids in.. I opted for tea instead of coffee this morning and fixed myself a giant mug to drink.

Breakfast was a homemade breakfast taco with egg and turkey sausage crumbles.

I have some ground chicken thawing that will become…[Read more]

  • Still working on cleaning out the house. Hopefully, I’ll be done with the office and front bedroom by Wednesday night so I can let the kids go through the boxes of cookbooks and other things that I’m not going to keep. My younger daughter is coming for the weekend and this is a great time to get this done and out of the way.

    Steps, push-ups,…[Read more]

  • I actually got to sleep in the morning, however, since I was up until the wee hours of the morning, that’s not really saying a whole lot!

Still shredding papers (how can we have this much?), giving my husband a haircut, taking a set of bed room furniture that my husband has been repairing over to my son’s. (it’s the furniture that my husband and…[Read more]

  • Today (actually the whole weekend) will be spent on working on the house. I’ve spent most of the day shredding old papers from the filing cabinet. Just right beside me, I have a box and a half to go and I know that there is probably still another box worth I haven’t seen yet.

    Breakfast was a protein shake

Lunch was a half a ham and cheese…[Read more]

  • Wow! This makes my stress seem like nothing!

Having had to deal with many, many doctors and especially surgeons through the years. (a child with chronic (and a lot of times acute GI hemorrhages), the thing that immediately popped into my mind is that you need to get a consultation with a third reconstruction surgeon. If he concurs that the first…[Read more]

  • <p style=”text-align: left;”>Today has been a good day so far! My husband surprised me last night with dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant. So I have LEFTOVERS!!!!! My sister called right as I was getting out of the shower and said she and my 2 year old grandson were at the park. So I threw on some clothes, clipped up my dripping hair…[Read more]

  • Grazing is mostly better. I’m walking a LOT! Did day four of the planks today and am up to three sets of 14 push-ups each. Wall push-ups as my physical therapist banned me from regular ones. Also the planks are forearm planks for the same reason. (plus my hands and wrists can’t take the pressure of regular planks/push-ups due to bone spurs and…[Read more]

  • I’m running very late posting today. I went to my bariatric support group meeting today. Sometimes it’s hard to be there when I’m the only one that’s over 8 months post-op (2 years 9 months) and the only one who has had an RNY. BUT, I enjoy the counselor who runs the meeting (our discussion every month comes from Michelle May’s “Am I Hungry?”…[Read more]

  • Better than I really expected. Still stressed over my husband’s job situation but I think it will be at least next week before we hear about any more new developments.

  • <p style=”text-align: left;”>I’m a bit late posting today. I think that I’m just running behind on everything.</p>
Steps and liquids (I really need to work on my liquids), cleaning out the home office (sometimes I feel like I will never finish) and a couple of quick errands.

Breakfast was a power crunch protein bar

    Lunch with be deli…[Read more]

  • Stress is definitely starting to take a toll on my husband and I. He’s eating too much and everything I eat or drink makes me feel sick to my stomach. Where I used to get about five hours of sleep a night, in the last two weeks it’s dropped to three. If his work would just tell us what’s going on, I could handle whatever it is. It’s the not…[Read more]

  • I was just thinking about 9/11 myself this morning.

Today’s a repeat of last week’s days. I’m still working on cleaning out the home office. I was obviously being extremely optimistic to think I was going to finish it in a week.

Walking, push-ups and planks are on the schedule.

Heading to my local library to renew my card. Being in the process…[Read more]
