  • I have a confession to make. My daughter’s 16th birthday is STRESSING ME OUT!

    And it’s my own fault.

All she asked for was a party where she could invite all her family and some of her friends. She has a big family (her dad’s side) so this requires a hall and once my mind heard “hall” it became this huge thing. And that has brought me near a…[Read more]

Ok here’s how the day shook out. Not great but it is what it is!

    • Sausage Egg McMuffin for breakfast
    • Indian butter chicken w/ salad for lunch
    • Power Crunch Bar for snack
    • A chalupa from Taco Bell for dinner

Mostly because I just really was in an “I don’t care” kind of mood. I thought this morning about why that was and have determined it’s…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I woke up very tired this morning. I’m on day 4 of a major headache (we had to front come thru) that I just can’t seem to shake. However, I am getting some things done. I bought a 4 pound tub of peanut butter and on Monday and by mid afternoon (I’m taking a lunch break) the entire tub will have been made into protein…[Read more]

This is relatively minor. Three years ago when OAC Convention was in Orlando the hotel ATM machine apparently had a card skimming device affixed to it and someone made off with $5,000 of my money! After fighting with the bank (who thought I spent it and was trying to recoup…because, like, I would do that, #1. And #2 by the money was withdrawn…[Read more]

  • Today’s big goal: Call the IRS. (Don’t ask.)

But first…I’ve had some bank account fraud! I get alerts if my bank account balance is low or goes to zero and I did today and checked it and someone has been using my card to take Lyfts all over San Francisco. Here’s the thing that irritates me. If I, Nikki Massie, go out of town and forget to tell…[Read more]

    Did my Zumba! Felt good.

I woke up this morning, as my husband said, totally frazzled. I can’t seem to maintain a thought in my head. However, I did get my “monthly maintenance” things done. (ran dishwasher cleaner through the dishwasher, disposal cleaner through the disposal, washing machine cleaner thru the washer and cleaned the filters on the washer and dryer…[Read more]

Ok so your mother-in-law is going in my prayers ASAP.

My boyfriend has both Type II diabetes and stage 4 kidney disease (he has both kidneys but is on peritoneal dialysis) so I know how those things can complicate other stuff.

While I think your husband is right, I think you are right too. You’re a worrier. That’s part of who you are! So I think…[Read more]

  • I’m wondering if we’ll see another heyday of daily check-ins. That would be a great thing for this somber Tuesday!

RIP Tom Petty. Your music got me through a lot.

Ok so…I’m determined to get past this mental funk I’ve been in. I think just all the general negativity in the world has been weighing on me. I have a few items I need to take action…[Read more]

I had this long post typed out and then my computer quit.

My heart is sad for the Las Vegas victims and their families. I feel like we are reaching a critical mass of crises in the world. I feel anxious about it. I wonder if you all are feeling the same way?

Just know that we can talk about it here! I know you guys well enough to know you’d show…[Read more]

  • Happy Monday! (if there can be such a thing)

Today I’m catching up on all the things I didn’t do this past weekend and should’ve.

My grocery shopping is done. Found out that the the entire chain of stores is out of the only coffee my husband drinks. And it’s their store brand! My store has been sending frantic emails to corporate but corporate…[Read more]

  • Thank you much!

Those are the types of things I am incapable of seeing the 1,245,678th time I’ve looked at it. 😉

  • I can be your accountability buddy on the stress bit as I need someone to be checking in with me too.

Truth be told, I haven’t been doing great with stress since about last year. I get anxious really quickly. That’s why I made an appointment with a new therapist. I may need to look into anti-anxiety meds because it really is quite scary and…[Read more]

  • Last week was a bust because I spent a lot of it feeling crappy. I’m determined to turn things around.

    • Monday: I’ll walk at lunchtime and then in the evening my daughter and I will go to the gym. She’s interested in learning a basic gym workout she can do so she can (gasp!) go without me! I’ll have left over ratatouille for lunch. I’m making a…

  • I want every good eyeball that is willing! Just remember to post your edits here. I’ll lose them otherwise!

  • Cool! You can put any edits you find here. I forgot to mention that. Thank you!

  • I’d be happy to proof read for ya!

  • I’m putting the finishing touches on two new ebooks that will go up for sale on Bariatric Foodie (remember, you guys don’t have to buy those because you’ll get access to them as part of your membership).

I’ve got final drafts and I’ve looked at them TOO many times! So I need different eyes on them. I’m going to post the links to them below. Here…[Read more]

Must be something in the air today @robin-miller I feel sort of like you do today.

Just got back from church which was amazing, as always. I’m a bit out of sorts on a few things emotionally but it’s nothing a good walk, some time with my journal, and support call won’t fix!

Today I’m going to be a home body. It’s cool out so I’m itching to…[Read more]

  • I’m just checking in. I have no idea what today will bring and have no plans other than I told my husband that we have to get out of the house and do something to relax. No talking about his job or the house. For a minimum of 60 minutes. I’m sitting in the living room, sipping on a cup of coffee in the quiet. Hubby’s still asleep. The dog is…[Read more]
