I’m going to continue to clean out my house this week. I’ve already contacted local charities to see what of this stuff they’ll take. My local library is going to be thrilled!
Getting my steps and liquids in. Both of these have been a major effort for me lately.
Planning meals ahead of time as much as possible. Especially breakfast and lunch.…[Read more]

Well I don’t have much to report from yesterday as I spent much of it in a medicated haze!
I feel better today but my neck still hurts. I think it’s a combo of my mattress and sleeping positions with this expander on my right side.
I’m about to get up and make jelly! Concord grape jelly that is. Then cleaning and then I have to take the girl…[Read more]

Up early this morning to haul a truck load of stuff to the bulk trash collection day. We got there early and sat in the cool and quiet and watched a beautiful sunrise. As soon as hubby gets his shower, we’ll be off to pick up paint and flooring samples for the house.
Food wise, I don’t really have a clue yet. Probably a scrambled egg with turkey…[Read more]

I came down with some sort of 24 hour bug. I was on the live show last night but in reality I was feeling more and more awful by the minute! Ugh. Started as a headache. Then progressed to neck ache and extreme chills. Came home and did meds and bed. Woke up once last night completely covered in sweat. Now I’m awake and feel better although…[Read more]

WOOHOO! Today I will finally be through with sorting out all of those cookbooks in my home office. (my mom collected cookbooks and I ended up with most of them after she died.) I have three more shelves to go through and I’ll be done! I’m keeping three boxes of books total (not all cookbooks) and will be donating 10+boxes. I’ll also be done with…[Read more]

Mid-week Sweep!
You keeping up those good habits? And how are you feeling?

I suspect that this is because you are exercising a “pass/fail” mentality. The rest of your report back seems to indicate that as well.
So let’s take some time to do a bit of re-framing:
- I wasn’t able to get my work priorities straightened out due to circumstances that were largely under my control, but I was able to cope through and…dang…

Mid-week sweep!
This has been a week for you! You started off cautiously hopeful and now you know what life is going to look like, at least for the next two months.
My advice to you: you’ve been great at establishing core habits. I have a feeling those are the things that make you feel like “you.”
Hold tight to those! Make a list of your…[Read more]

Mid-week Sweep!
I’m especially interested in #’s 4 & 5 but a report on all would be nice.
I assume you’re still breathing because I’ve seen you on social media this week. 😉
I hope you’re well! <3

Mid-week Sweep!
How are things going? I can’t tell whether it’s this past Sunday or the one coming up where you need to go to bed early (I think it’s the one coming up). How is your phased in sleep plan coming along?
I’m so glad your shaking has calmed down. I experienced first hand how limiting it can feel to be “doped up,” as you put it. Not…[Read more]

Today is the beginning of a very long and hard two months. After a very long discussion last night, my husband and I came to the conclusion that there is no future (or security) at his work now. He’s applying for a transfer to the location 2+ hours away. Which means we’re moving. He would like us out of our house by Thanksgiving. So, lot’s to keep…[Read more]

I don’t want to 100% commit to posting these every day as life has a tendency to start working against those sorts of commitments. But I do have a mental reflection every day on significant things I see and hear. When I am able, I totally plan to share them here.
For the first one I want to tell you about my friend Diana.
She’s not a “friend”…[Read more]

So the 5k training plan threw me for a loop this week.
THEY TOOK AWAY MY THURSDAY REST DAY!
Since I have the live show tonight, here’s what I will do. I’m going to take the rest day today (I’ve done the other days this week) and then do cross-training on Sunday (which actually works out better as I have time to do so that day!)…[Read more]

Oh do share about the spice blends!
I have a few I need to use. Like I bought berbere (are you familiar with that? it’s a spice blend used in Ethiopian cooking) so that I could make Mesir Wat (which are lentils in this deliciously flavorful sauce).
I need to clean out my spice cabinet, truth be told.
On the Z-Quil I’m trying to use the “break…[Read more]

Today’s check-in for me is called “Nikki took a sleep aid to help her get some rest and now really regrets it…”
My doctor asked to see me about my sleep issues but in the meantime said I could use Z-Quil so I did. It’s weird how if I have a glass of wine, I’m goosey for about 15 minutes and then totally sober. Sleep aids? I took it at 9:30 p.m.…[Read more]

I MADE IT TO ZUMBA!!!!
I think I may have overdone it as my shoulder and neck hurt. I really need to be careful with my movement until I get these issues worked out.

Ok I’m back with foods:
- Sausage Egg McMuffin (sigh…)
- Chicken Schwarma
- I will have a protein bar in a bit
- I’m not sure about dinner although I’m leaning toward keeping it simple with a ramekin of cheesy meatballs.
I will make it to Zumba tonight!!!

I know that drained feeling all too well! Be kind to yourself and don’t overdo!
We’re still in recovery mode from all the stress. My husband is still employed! However, I think that he will be trying to get a transfer to the main location (about 2.5 hours from here, so the cleaning out and prepping the house to sell continues.)
This morning, I’m…[Read more]
