    Happy Labor Day!

Today is laundry day for me. Plus “flip the mattress over” day since my husband is off and can help me out.

So, laundry and what I can get done in our home office to start cleaning it out.

    Breakfast will be an omelet

Lunch the chicken salad I made yesterday

    Dinner is still undecided

I’m adding extra time to my walking today…[Read more]

Good morning and Happy Labor Day!

Today begins our training schedule for the Foodie 5k! We start off fairly straightforward: Walk for 15 minutes.

    • If this is challenging for you, do your best and remember to report back so you have a record of what you did.
    • If this seems easy for you, I’ll tell you my approach is going to be to add 15 onto…

  • Well, yes, for the mini-pledge…but I hope that isn’t the end of you using the Weekly Plan forum!

I’ll be tallying up stuff on Tuesday. I THINK there were maybe 6 of you who did the mini-pledge all the way through (don’t quote me on that as I’m only going by memory) so I think the odds are ever in your favor! 😉

  • Best wishes for an uneventful procedure, Sue!

I found this article that has a good breakdown of carbs, and at the bottom is a big old list of complex carbohydrates for you to try: http://www.livestrong.com/article/27398-list-complex-carbohydrates-foods/

I hope that at least gives you a starting point. I’ll look forward to hearing how things are…[Read more]

  • That last paragraph…that’s the crux of everything. There is no such thing as a perfectly executed plan. Something always happens that we don’t anticipate. It’s how we respond to those situations that makes or breaks our end-goal.

I think you’ve got a pretty good attitude about it all.

Good luck with your first week of school!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Still cleaning out the house. More yard work today. Lots of listening to my husband talk about what’s going on at work.</p>
    Breakfast never happened

Lunch – I made some chicken salad and had a protein pudding for dessert

Dinner will be my husband’s seafood gumbo. He has it simmering on the stove and the smell is…[Read more]

    Happy Sunday, Maria!

I will be eagerly awaiting to hear about your triumphant return to Planet Fitness. 😉

  • Woot! I think with as many steps as you get each day, the 5k training will be a breeze. Just to let you know how I’m approaching it, I am just adding whatever they say to do for a day atop the walking I was already doing. I figure if I do that, then I am truly challenging myself. I hope that helps!

Good luck with everything. You’ve been handling…[Read more]

  • Your enthusiasm makes me smile 🙂

  • Look at you! So efficient!

Ok just because I’m nosey…what are the meals you’ve planned?

  • Yooooo I think this physical planner thing may change the game for me. I think because it’s a physical thing it just occurs to me to check it, whereas I am notorious for making commitments without checking my online calendar (and yes, it is an integrated calendar of my personal, work, BF and FNC stuff…but for some reason I just don’t check it…[Read more]

Ok FNCers! Tomorrow starts the 5k training. For those participating, have you looked over the plan?

If not, look and PLAN YOUR TIME! We all have busy lives so planning will be essential in getting it done.

Today is a chill day for me. I have some more housework to do, I’m gonna sit down with my planner book and get my calendar coordinated, cook…[Read more]

  • Mini pledge check-in! I didn’t do as well as I had hoped on getting liquids in. Actually, I stunk at it. But, hey, from where I am now, it can only get better! ?

  • Working on the Self Evaluation and the 5K, of course. Along with my cleaning out the house. This week I’m planning on getting our home office cleaned out. (that’s the room with the blue walls that you always comment on, Nikki). If I can get that room done, the rest of the house will seem easy! I just hope that I can get it done in a week!

    Meals…[Read more]

Started the day by sleeping in for a change. Then up and busy. The hope is to get some outside things done over the weekend. Mowing and trimming the yard and moving some plantings around to make room for some new crepe myrtles we bought for the front of the house. However, while the temperature outside isn’t all that terrible, the humidity is a…[Read more]

    Cleaning, gym, school shopping.

    In that order.

Cleaning my downstairs because the other people in my house it’s OK to live in a pigsty. Ugh!

From there I am going to treat myself to an hour at the Y. And finally my daughter and I are going to go shopping for some school pants and shoes, as she starts school on Tuesday.

    I’m trying something new…[Read more]

I love that you’ve had such a good day. THANK YOU for sharing it!

  • Ugh this is so ANNOYING! I wrote a whole response and POOF! My Safari app quit. Bah!

    Anyhoo…

Mannnn I been a bit crazy! Got a promotion but still have a foot in my old job. Which has been a bit nuts. We are an international emergency response org and so both my current jobs (Staff Writer and social marketing manager) get nuts during things…[Read more]

  • LOL. I don’t know if you thought that I was going to oppose this message, but I totally agree! Unfortunately this week I’ve been dealing with two instances of massive flooding on either side of the world at ye olde day job: one that people care about and one that people barely know about. So I’m actually just pretty proud of myself that I was able…[Read more]
