  • Wow! That’s a lot of cooking. But once you get it done, you’ll be set for the week. Do me a favor and post what recipes you decide on. Just cuz I’m nosey. 😉

As usual, I’ll be back through with my mid-week sweep on Thursday. Have a great week and see you in the daily check-ins!

Wow! You went all in on this daily check-in but I love it. I think we’ve got LOTS to work with here.

So let me see if I can get my thoughts out in an organized fashion:

    1. YES! This is the perfect place to be accountable every day. Each day when you log in there should be a thread named by date but if you don’t see one, feel free to start one by…

  • Time to get busy and get as much cleaned out of my house as possible. That being said, I’m also going to take so time to make sure that I have what I need available so I don’t fall victim to foods that I shouldn’t be eating. I’m planning on making a BIG batch of Unjury peanut butter protein balls in chocolate and strawberry (mmmmmm! Tastes like…[Read more]

Today has been a very quiet day for me. My husband is working on his resume. I’m pretty much taking advantage of the quiet as my week will be a stressful one.

Breakfast was Greek yogurt and a power crunch protein bar.

Lunch was some turkey (I was going to have the rest of the kale salad but my husband beat me to it)

Dinner is still up in the…[Read more]

  • How can it be almost September already? I’m not ready for September!

Everyone at my husband’s work who’s “Voluntary Separation” forms are accepted will work their last day on Thursday. People are being fired left and right. I’ll not be surprised if layoffs start Friday (that way they don’t have to pay for the Labor Day holiday). Corporate has…[Read more]

  • It’s too quiet up in here!

Today has been a fairly steady day for me. I went to church, took the kid school shopping, then came home and (gasp!) meal prepped! I’ve got a big pot of veggie soup on (a friend gave me half her CSA box and I was determined not to waste it).

I’m going to try to sneak in a long walk before support call tonight! (Info…[Read more]

Unfortunately, no “aha” moments. Mainly trying to stop and see if I’m really hungry, thirsty or wanting to eat out of stress. I’m definitely still doing too much stress eating.

It’s just now hit me that today ends this challenge. I was sitting here trying to decide what my next pledge was going to be. 😕

  • It’s been a busy day for me, also. We’ve been looking at flooring for the house all day. I’m battling a vicious headache.

Breakfast was sausage and lentil soup and some Greek yogurt

Lunch was a Quest bar in the car

Dinner will be turkey breast and some kale salad

Snacks will probably be shakes or bars

  • Happy, happy birthday! 🎂🎈🎁

  • OMG 😳

    Today has been so busy!

But I got my entire errands list done so I’m pretty proud of myself.

    Food wise:

    • Starbucks breakfast sandwich
    • 1/2 soup and sandwich from Panera

At some point I’m going to make high protein veggie chili today. But for right now I’m gonna binge watch “The Great British Baking Show.”

  • Happy Birthday!!!

@sarahlareina where are youuuu? I miss seeing your lovely face!

  • I think you’re making great progress. I see a lot of thinking about your decisions and how they impact you, and making decisions accordingly. Yeah, a burger happens here and there (to me as well) but the big thing is recognizing it was a treat and not an everyday occurrence, and moving on from there.

Post-vacay is the pits! But look, I will make…[Read more]

  • I personally think you’ve been doing an awesome job. KUDOS! (And keep making weekly plans and daily check-ins…it isn’t always the most thrilling process…but it works! Plus it’s just always so great when you have a big accomplishment to report back on.)

  • I still don’t think it has hit me that she is gone-gone. Our basset hound seems very attune to it, though.

My youngest daughter is also adjusting. She says yesterday, “I need to get used to being the only child in the house.” They fought like the dickens when they were both here, but I think she misses her sister already.

Don’t get me wrong. I…[Read more]

I like your approach. Yesterday is gone and done with. Resolving to press reset and do better from this point onward is the best thing you could have done! Enjoy yourself, my friend.

  • Nikki Massie replied to the topic August 25 in the forum Daily Check-Ins 7 years, 4 months ago

Yeah, I started typing out a check-in post and got pulled away (that seems to be my theme today).

So I’ve learned this week when they give you a promotion all that really means is they load you up with so much work you can’t see straight! Oy.

I’m enjoying it, though, and it’s challenging me to step up my time organization skills because I refuse…[Read more]

  • I thought that I was late checking in today, but I guess not!

I got all my steps in and most of my liquids in before lunch. Lunch was out with my sister and oldest grandson. Today’s a stressful one. It’s the deadline for turning in the “Voluntary Separation” forms at my husband’s work. We’ve chosen not to volunteer. I imagine we’ll find out soon…[Read more]

  • Mid-week sweep!

Robin, I just hate that you are under this level of stress and uncertainty, but I applaud you for facing it head on. I think mindfulness is a great goal and I’m interested to hear how it’s going. I am getting some sense of it in your daily check-ins but do you have any “aha” moments you’d like to share?

  • Mid-week sweep! You have some ambitious goals here, but do-able.

From my understanding, the GMI is comprised of a lot of factors and not just your carb intake. It seems to reward you for having nutritionally balanced meals (so even if there are carbs in there, if it’s all starches and, say, no fruits or veggies over the course of a day you’ll get…[Read more]
