It’s supposed to rain here in central Texas but so far the sun’s still shining. I hope it will get here soon!
I also remember my children starting college. My oldest started Baylor the same week my husband started a new job. In Albuquerque. I was trying to get our house up for sale and get the two younger kids back to school. Not my favorite…[Read more]

I started my day with a dental appointment and am now killing time at the grocery store until it’s time to pick up my husband’s prescription. I’m sitting in the former food court area drinking a free cup of decaf coffee.
Breakfast – none yet unless this coffee counts
Lunch will be the roasted turkey breast and olive spread I didn’t have…[Read more]

<hr />
Stress is definitely starting to take a toll on both my husband and me. Neither of us are sleeping well and our eating is becoming more of an issue. He’s eating too much and I’m not wanting to eat because everything makes me queasy. Even my favorite foods.
Working on steps (I’m having a lot of pain in my hip so this is slow) and my…[Read more]

My husband and I are working on a plan to get done all that we need to do. About to head out to look for a couple of good sized bushes to replace our small rose bushes on the front of the house. (can you say “curb appeal”?). Hubby’s going to work on his resume tonight.
Breakfast was very late (more like lunch time) and was sausage and lentil…[Read more]

My pledge this week is to concentrate on mindful eating. To stop and think about whether I’m really hungry or if it’s stress getting the best of me.
I’m definitely headed into a crazy season of my life! My focus has had to under go a radical change. Steps will have to very possibly take a distant second place to doing everything I can to finish…[Read more]

@thinkhealthy malls and stores are great! I know around here sometimes even Churches will allow you to walk in their buildings. We do that frequently because the winter roads here are NOT safe for walking and sidewalks don’t exist. Even if they did the plows would bury them and no one wants to dig them out after that. (we have enough problems…[Read more]

Honestly I like the concept. We should be measuring body composition more that just BMI. However I don’t buy-in to “its all in what we eat” and the measuring your waist as a hard rule sounds iffy to me.
I think its a good piece to the puzzle but should not be a one stop shop.

Finishing cleaning everything off my kitchen counters so we can finish the back splash. A little bit of laundry that I would normally do tomorrow. A quick trip to the grocery store so we can eat this weekend. I have a roast…[Read more]
