I actually got to sleep in the morning, however, since I was up until the wee hours of the morning, that’s not really saying a whole lot!
Still shredding papers (how can we have this much?), giving my husband a haircut, taking a set of bed room furniture that my husband has been repairing over to my son’s. (it’s the furniture that my husband and…[Read more]

Resting mostly today. My stomach isn’t right and my entire shoulder and neck area is a mangled knot of muscle tension.
My fridge broke (got it fixed) and thus all perishables are now spoiled. Sigh. Always something, like I said.
Not sure of eats yet but I’m gonna take a long walk today and clear my head. I just need some quiet.
Looking forward…[Read more]

Thanks @baylorbev for starting the thread!
Yesterday was a mixed bag for me. I didn’t get my walking in (doing it today) and generally loafed but I’m pretty sure that’s what I needed to do.

Today (actually the whole weekend) will be spent on working on the house. I’ve spent most of the day shredding old papers from the filing cabinet. Just right beside me, I have a box and a half to go and I know that there is probably still another box worth I haven’t seen yet.
Breakfast was a protein shake
Lunch was a half a ham and cheese…[Read more]

Medical stuff is a full time job!
There were only two surgeons on my plan that specialize in breast reconstruction after mastectomy. The first one had a full patient load so I didn’t get an appointment with him even. The second has declined. So at this point it’d all be out of network doctors, so I figure I should probably just work with the…[Read more]

Wow! This makes my stress seem like nothing!
Having had to deal with many, many doctors and especially surgeons through the years. (a child with chronic (and a lot of times acute GI hemorrhages), the thing that immediately popped into my mind is that you need to get a consultation with a third reconstruction surgeon. If he concurs that the first…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Today has been a good day so far! My husband surprised me last night with dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant. So I have LEFTOVERS!!!!! My sister called right as I was getting out of the shower and said she and my 2 year old grandson were at the park. So I threw on some clothes, clipped up my dripping hair…[Read more]

And, yes, that was in fact the “short” version.

So…the short version of how we got to the latest bout of stress in my life.
As you all know (and I mention, ad nauseum!) in 2016, I got breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy. I elected to have my breasts reconstructed using implants. Through my breast surgeon (for the cancer) I found a reconstructive surgeon I liked and we proceeded…[Read more]

Ugh. Bras.
Someone finally hipped me to a bra company that makes bras for women who have had mastectomy/reconstruction. Because that’s a whole other layer of bra struggle right there. Interestingly, you don’t need a bra post-reconstruction for the same purposes as women with breasts need a bra (women with breasts need lift. I do not need lift)…[Read more]

This day started out crazy from the moment I awakened. Let’s just say I hit the ground running.
Today’s 5k training says to cross-train 20-30 minutes. I’m going to go to Zumba again. Should go better since I feel better!
Eats:
- Spinach/Feta wrap from Starbucks
- A salad topped with shrimp and crab meat
- A Power Crunch Bar
- Meatballs
I’ll…[Read more]

Grazing is mostly better. I’m walking a LOT! Did day four of the planks today and am up to three sets of 14 push-ups each. Wall push-ups as my physical therapist banned me from regular ones. Also the planks are forearm planks for the same reason. (plus my hands and wrists can’t take the pressure of regular planks/push-ups due to bone spurs and…[Read more]

I’m running very late posting today. I went to my bariatric support group meeting today. Sometimes it’s hard to be there when I’m the only one that’s over 8 months post-op (2 years 9 months) and the only one who has had an RNY. BUT, I enjoy the counselor who runs the meeting (our discussion every month comes from Michelle May’s “Am I Hungry?”…[Read more]

Today is my late mother’s birthday. She passed five years ago. It’s actually not one of my “hard days.” My birthday is much harder for me than hers. Probably because my mom was very demanding about her birthday so it was a source of stress for me! But as time goes by, I focus on good memories and the legacy she left in me and my girls.
Our 5k…[Read more]

Mid-week sweep!
So far, so good. I have been keeping up with the 5k plan, even though I was feeling a little sick this week. My immune system went into stealth mode though so I’m feeling a lot better today. Still, I am going to cancel the live show tonight as I want to get one more night of rest before trying to resume full throttle…[Read more]

You’ve been reporting back so faithfully I feel like I personally have a good idea of what’s going on with you, but would you mind recapping for our fellow FNC citizens. You’ve been doing great. 🙂

Mid-week sweep!
I feel like I have a good sense of what’s going on with you from your daily check-ins but for the benefit of our fellow FNC citizens, could you give us a recap?
I think together we can come up with a good plan for you to adjust to this new schedule of yours. Many heads are better than one!

Mid-week sweep! I feel like I know how your first goal (about bedtime) is going. I know getting out of the house has been challenging. How are you feeling about that?
I hope everything is going well. Looking forward to reading all about it!
