Good Morning! It’s a very rainy day here in Baytown. There’s nothing like being away from home to make you realize just how comfortable your own bed is!
I have no idea what today will bring. We were up late last night watching Houston get to the World Series! GO ASTROS!!!!
We’re just now about to eat breakfast (at almost lunchtime) and I have no…[Read more]

I’m up and going early today. We’re getting ready to head out to Baytown to visit my husband’s oldest sister and his older brother. It will be an emotional day for us as we’ll be visiting the cemetery where my husband’s parents are buried and by their house. We sold the house back at the first of the year and it’s been totally redone. I really…[Read more]

I’m here! I’m here!
It’s been a bit of a crazy, long day! We had to get up early and go to Temple for my husband’s recheck appointments for his back. The doctor was very pleased with the results of the injections. But, probably not as pleased as we are!
Then back to Hewitt to the flooring store to pick up some samples. Home to look at the…[Read more]

It’s kinda lonely in here. Robin! Where are you? 🙂
I’m late posting my check-in mostly because today has been a super challenging day. I got awakened by my boyfriend at 4 a.m. that he needed to go to the ER. He came in late last night (after I was asleep) and apparently started violently vomiting afterward. This went on for several hours before…[Read more]

Things are starting to happen at my husband’s work. We don’t know if this is a good thing or not yet. But even my husband is admitted to being stressed which is a really big deal for him.
Steps are done, liquids are a work in progress.
I’m pretty much useless today due to a bad night’s sleep.
On the good side of things, my 27 year old son…[Read more]

Please tell me I will survive this Sweet 16!
It’s not that anybody is pressuring me. My daughter is being great about everything. I have help.
It’s. This. Damn. ANXIETY! It’s making me avoid things. I really don’t need to be avoiding the party stuff. I need to get stuff done. But I seem to get overwhelmed so easily. I wish I were coping better…[Read more]

Mid-week sweep!
I’ve been so jealous of your Scotch Eggs. How’s the house coming along?

Today has been an ok day so far. It was much cooler than I thought it would be, but that’s ok!
I took the bus again this morning. I didn’t hate it. 🙂 I get my car back tomorrow but this incident has me wondering if I should explore taking the bus. I need to sit down…[Read more]

I’m COLD!!!!!!! We’ve gone from the mid 90’s on Saturday to 45 degrees this morning! So far we’ve managed to get up to 60! My thin Texas blood wasn’t ready for this!
I’m working on the front bedroom today. So far, it’s going quicker than expected. My husband’s more and more feeling like we need to get the house ready to sell as quickly as…[Read more]

Today…I took the bus. For the first time in years!
My car is in the shop until THURSDAY. Yes, folks. That’s how much stuff was wrong with it. Sigh.
It’s going to cost a lot but guess what? That’s one less thing to worry about heading into winter so I will deal with it!
I actually didn’t mind taking the bus. I didn’t have to pay attention to…[Read more]

I SLEPT LAST NIGHT!!!
And I slept well. Unfortunately my body was so starved for good sleep that this resulted in me oversleeping and I had to hustle to get the kid dropped to school on time. Bah! But I feel very energetic.
Today is the start of a busy week. It’s very meeting-ful. I don’t like meeting-ful weeks. It just feels like I am going…[Read more]

We ended up having a really good dinner. We had DIY burrito bowls. It was so easy too! The only thing I really had to “cook” was the chicken breast. I also made salsa from my garden tomatoes. Sigh. That is the epitome of life satisfaction for me: making things from food I grew myself.

This week (on Monday) my oldest baby turns 37. How did she get so old? How did I get so old?!
I’m going to try prepping as many of my breakfasts and lunches as I can. This is a new thing for me. I have my breakfasts done already. I made scotch eggs. Lunches may not be prepped until Monday as I have my husband’s lunches to do today. For me, I’m…[Read more]
