Mid-week sweep! How’s it going? You getting that protein? And what’s working well that’s helping you get there?

Today is the first day of OAC festivities. As I type this, it’s 8 a.m. and I am in the board meeting. Later on I am speaking briefly during an advocacy session and then tonight kicks off with a party!
Not sure of eats but I got a LOT of steps yesterday (more than 15,000!) and I’ll recap my day and show you guys pics when I get a moment.
If…[Read more]

I’m going to be a little busy today. My monthly bariatric support group meeting in Temple is at noon. I really wish the Bariatric group had a meeting in Waco, but since I’m the only one from Waco that attends the meeting (any of the meetings), that’s not ever going to happen. 😕
I do at least have cell phone service again. Seems our old company is…[Read more]

I think that I may have a stomach bug. I had to take medicine for nausea last night and am not sure that I may not need to take more. I’ve been sipping liquids all day, foods have been pretty much non existent. Some steps but not to goal and don’t know if I really care one way or the other.

This idea came up when the site first, first started but I didn’t have much time to make it happen.
So I’m thinking the September challenge might be training for the virtual 5k, and then we’ll have the 5k in October. I know we are all at varying levels of walking/running so I want to give time to gear up. The theme of this 5k will be “No Foodie…[Read more]

I remember you saying you’d be going later on in the year. I hope you have a good trip as well. I’ll be thinking of you this week. 🙂

Today is my day to get caught up on the routine tasks that I normally do on the weekends but do to some STRESS ( see my weekly plan post) I didn’t get done this time. Trying to get my steps in, working on my liquids (drinking ice tea as I type).
Breakfast-Pumpkin Cheesecake cottage cheese from Nikki’s Breakfast cookbook (note to self—order the…[Read more]

Last day at work before NOLA! Its a busy day but I’m committed to getting everything done so I can go in peace.
It’s rainy today so I won’t be walking the lake, but you’ll see in my weekly action plan I have other activity lined up.
Eats today:
- A protein shake (almond milk, a small part of a banana, PB2 and BiPro chocolate whey)
- A subway…

Not really…but I like to think I’m taking over the world!
This week I head to New Orleans for OAC. This is a challenging eating locale and OAC only covers breakfast and sorta-dinners during the convention (Thursday night is heavy appetizers, Friday I think is a buffet style thing and Saturday I believe is the only real sit-down dinner).

Following your day-to-day adventures, I say you did great! You enjoyed yourself, you got out there and did stuff and if you enjoyed every bite then I call that a resounding success! Indulgence is only bad in my book when it’s something you didn’t end up enjoying (either because you went wayyyyy overboard or because you were indulging for the wrong…[Read more]

Sunday fun day?
I dunno. But I don’t have a ton planned. I went to the farmers market to get pickling cucumbers because I have a bunch of dill I refuse to let go bad! I also got some tomatoes for salsa (because I have cilantro I refuse to let go bad) and I fell in love with a bushel of not-quite-ripe peaches (which hopefully means they’ll be…[Read more]
