I’m a lot late to this as I’ve been thinking about a word for the year & mercy of all things is popping up
I know that I expect way too much out of a broken body & it needs mercy, permission to rest & recharge so that I can continue.
I realized after Monday at the Y that I feel better physically, mentally & spiritually AFTER exercising.
I nee…[Read more]

IT’S BLEEPING COLD!
And for some reason, out of the blue, my incision started aching. Not sure what that’s about.
I had my usual (sausage egg mcmuffin) for breakfast. I am planning on going to the gym later. Not sure about (super late) lunch.
Btw, I’m going to be on a CNN show! I’ll post the link when I get it.

I know hubby is sick which has probably set you back. How’s this week going?

Oh no, Robin! I hope he gets better soon. You guys don’t have time to be sick!

I’M GOING BACK TO WOOOOOOOOORK!
(In case you are wondering, this is a good thing. I was SO BORED!)
So the rest of this week is likely to be busy but that’s ok. Here’s what I have of a plan for this week so far:
- Food: I’m going to finish up some chicken soup my boyfriend made with half sandwiches for lunches. We need to grocery shop next…

Last few days before surgery and your girl Nikki is STRESSED OUT!
Not by the surgery. That is in God’s hands and I trust His will shall be done. (Still, prayers and positive thoughts, please!)
No…I’m more worried about the stuff I have to get done BEFORE surgery. Namely, all the rest of the email and social communication for my job through the…[Read more]

Hey there! I’m so late, but how did your plan go last week? I saw that your hubby was offered a job. Congrats!
How are things going with Good Measures? And with packing/purging? And with taking care of YOU???

I would put myself at 90% over this cold. There’s some lingering congestion but the fatigue has gone away. In fact, I was up LATE last night because I have slept so much in the past few days that I wasn’t really tired. Also, I went to the gym last evening and evening workouts always cause me to get a burst of energy that makes sleep…[Read more]

So from what I can see you seem to be eating out a lot, which is probably due to the fact that you are super busy and likely tired after all you are doing!
Is there a way to eat at home more easily? I know my supermarket makes pre-prepped meals that you just throw in the oven. Or you could buy a rotisserie chicken and a few easy sides and eat off…[Read more]

I’m here & trying. Life has been so challenging since 11/3 ( hubby had RNY with issues & a week in rehab) between hubby, wee one relapsing with cutting & the eldest with her issues, THEN realizing my mother in law is at her mortal end but just won’t let go (I’m too bloody much like her I fear). Personality issues in a hobby of mine left me feel…[Read more]

I just love how when I am all like, “I’m gonna start posting every day again!” I get sick and don’t post for a few days. Sigh.
Ok so today. First day back at work after two sick days. Blah.
Food:
- Sausage Egg McMuffin (at this point maybe I just need to start planning the rest of my day around these instead of fighting so hard against it. It’s…

I was near death!
No, not really. But the day did suck pretty badly.
I didn’t eat much. I mostly slept. Didn’t do the gym. Blah!

Amen, sister!
You seem to have a good rationale behind this word so think on it some more. I’ll check back with you before we move on to the next stage of this thing! (Which, yes, I’ve been intentionally ambiguous about.)

Ohhhh good word. And the best part about it is that the word can do a lot to inform how you view new experiences, ideas and challenges. Can you think of some things you haven’t been able to do over the years because of various restrictions (location, parental duties, etc.) that you could envision now that you are making some life changes?

I’m still brainstorming my word but I’m leaning heavily toward “Strong.”
This isn’t just physical, but that’s a big part of it. Before the cancer I was big on strength. My weight almost didn’t matter to me as much as my strength did. I lifted weights, worked out a lot. I loved how strong I was getting! Then I got my mastectomy and have since lost…[Read more]

A friend of mine got me to doing this a few years back and it’s become a tradition I love, which also helps me.
I invite you to join me in picking a word for the year.
So…what does that even mean?
Well your word for the year should symbolize what you want from your life for the year. For example, if your past year was tumultuous, maybe your…[Read more]

Because it’s never too late to make a plan.
Here’s when I plan to go to the Y the next few days:
- Today: Immediately after work before going grocery shopping.
- Saturday: In the morning, before my wig appointment (This may be vain but I refuse to mess up a fresh wig job at the gym!)
- Sunday: Right after church before I get lazy and…

Ok, Y Challenge Day 1. I’m ready!
I plan to go to the Y after work for a 30 minute treadmill workout. I still have the crud so I’m not going to push it too hard at the gym, but I will get there!
Eats so far:
- Peppermint Mocha protein shake
- I’ll have half a chicken shawarma wrap I have leftover from yesterday
- Power Crunch Bar and a…

I ate too fast. Ate too much. Now I want to die!!!
(Not really, but it feels awful.)
Otherwise, I’m ok today. Fighting a cold. I have eaten crappily today. Egg McMuffin for breakfast. A wrap w/ fries for lunch. Now I feel miserable. That’s exactly what I get!
Dinner will be nothing. With a side of nothing. With nothing on top!
I did go for a…[Read more]
