My middle child (aka younger daughter) is coming to visit today through Sunday. She’ll keep me company tomorrow in the waiting room while my husband gets his back injection. Saturday, she and I are going to get up early and go to the zoo while it’s still relatively cool. As I was putting clean sheets on the bed and a freshly washed blanket and…[Read more]

  • MID WEEK SWEEP!

I’ve been keeping my walking commitment. Cross-training, not so much. I need to get labs drawn because I swear at the end of the day I am DRAINED.

Also something is going on with my neck on the same side as the shoulder that is messed up (on the same side as the most extensive work was done during my mastectomy). So…the…[Read more]

  • MID WEEK SWEEP!

I gotta tell you, you have been like a ray of sunshine for me this past week or two. You’ve just been so upbeat! Please don’t ever underestimate how empowering and motivating that is for others – especially me!

How are things going? It sounds like you are doing well. We just have to figure out how to get you to the gym without…[Read more]

  • MID WEEK SWEEP!

You’ve been kinda quiet, which probably means you’ve been super busy. I hope your plan has been going ok. Report back when you can.

  • MID WEEK SWEEP

How’s your recovery coming along? Is PT going ok?

Seems like you’ve been at or near your eating targets, which is awesome! Can’t wait to hear how everything else is going.

  • MID WEEK SWEEP

So I was a little worried about you. I know you took your grandson’s fall very hard. I hope that you are feeling better about that. It doesn’t sound to me like it was your fault, but that he’s a little boy and little boys sometimes hit their heads (or worse).

How have you been this week? I look forward to hearing about where you…[Read more]

  • MID WEEK SWEEP!

So from what I’ve seen you’ve been holding up ok, despite the fact that you still don’t know 100% what’s up with hubby’s job. I’m so proud of you.

Have you been doing that workbook? And what about your other goals for the week? How are those coming along?

  • @thinkhealthy you have to get the workbooks at her website, http://www.amihungry.com

    OMG. 😳

My promotion is going well so far but work is so BUSY! Good busy but still…busy.

Today my schedule is light so I intend to catch up on a lot of stuff at work.

After work I’ll take a nice stress reduction walk before the live show (pray that goes ok…after the last one we did I’m genuinely nervous).

    Eats:

    • A mixture of chicken bre…

So what does the trainer do that motivates you to follow through with working out?

  • AWESOME podcast in general. But this episode had me taking notes.

    Like…actual notes.

    With my hands.

It’s about 29 minutes long. So perfect to do while you are walking for your 5k training! It’s about why we tend to avoid information, even when it can be useful to…[Read more]

Today has started somewhat slowly, but I’m starting to pick up speed a little bit. I ate something yesterday that didn’t sit well at all. (I have know idea what as I didn’t have anything new to eat) I didn’t sleep well at all. I’m cautiously thinking things are better today.

I’m making progress on cleaning out the house. As soon as I get the rest…[Read more]

    Ok so…a few things.

#1 – I KNOW THIS FEELING! When my daughter was 3 she fell off our front steps (we lived in a townhouse with very high concrete steps) and skinned her entire nose. I felt like the worst parent ever even though it was just a case of three year-old clumsies. So I get that.

    #2 – The “I don’t care” mentality is…[Read more]

  • Thank you for posting this!

I’m glad that your path is a little bit clearer. I find it helps me to prioritize things too. Especially when I feel overwhelmed and stuck. (Which is the pits, by the way.)

I’m so glad you’re a member of this community. <3

  • Congratulations! 🎈🎆🎇🎉🎊

That kind of tired makes perfect sense to me, Nikki. Sometimes I can’t even remember the last time I wasn’t that tired. But, because you can still function, you just keep on going. Yup. You have described my life!

Push-ups and planks are done (I have to confess, I seriously thought about skipping them today) and I have less than 1000 steps to go…[Read more]

    I’m tired.

And I’m starting to get grumpy about being tired.

I did message my doctor about safe sleep aids. The weird thing about how my body is set up post-WLS is that I get tired but I rarely get “dead dog” tired. So I can walk. I can work out. I can do all the things I need to do functionally. But I’m tired. I don’t know if that makes sense.…[Read more]

  • Were you around last year when I did the study of the Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat book? (I think you were.)

If you were, you’ll know why it makes me HAPPY that you have the workbook and are doing this. That book single-handedly changed my life! My outlook on how I eat is so much more realistic now than it was before and I owe that to Dr. May! 🙂

  • Very nice plan!

I’m very encouraged by your recovery from your surgery. I hope PT isn’t too taxing.

Also, good idea to work on your resume during this time. You’ll definitely be ready when the time comes to start searching.

I’ll be back by on Thursday for the mid-week sweep!

  • You know what I love about this plan? You defined what you think definitely might happen vs. stuff that is dependent on situations outside your control. THAT is success, lady!

Sorry you have such long days. I hope that next week’s plan involves something relaxing (a mani/pedi maybe?) as a way to reward yourself for getting through all…[Read more]
