It’s still cold and damp here, but at least the rain has stopped! Today is my support group meeting so I’m about to head to Temple. When I get home, I will be making a very quick trip to the grocery store. (I’m working on making hubby’s lunches healthier)
Breakfast was scrambled eggs and sausage
Lunch will be deli ham, cheese crisps and some…[Read more]

Meal planning is going really well. Tonight is leftover night which works out well for me as today is my support group meeting. Actually, at the moment, I’m in the process of getting ready to leave.

I’m here!
Today is a pretty chill day. I have tomorrow off because I finally got tickets to the new Smithsonian African-American museum. I’m very excited to go. I’m going with my boyfriend though. I hope he doesn’t try to rush me through it. I plan to spend the whole day.
But today is rainy. I have the live show tonight so I have some running…[Read more]

I know how this feels. That’s what happened with my alopecia. Wasn’t caught in time and is now irreversible.
I do think you need some time and space to focus on your health stuff. Is there anybody at all who can help with your MIL so that you have some room to do that?

Mid-week sweep!
Did you get to that meeting? And how’s the meal planning going?
Sorry I’ve been so absent. I got slammed at work. But I’m BACK!

Ok, it’s been a sh** week for me. First, I finally have a diagnosis why my right hand is extremely weak and a significant amount of atrophy in the muscle (ongoing for many years progressively getting worse). The clinical term for it is cubital tunnel syndrome, which means the nerves in my elbow are being “pinched” . Ok, I thought great, now what…[Read more]

Today is cold and rainy. It’s been very difficult for me to get myself up and going. However, I am getting plenty of liquids in! I’m constantly drinking something hot!
Breakfast was Unjury protein balls
Lunch was leftover filling from last night’s stuffed zucchini
Dinner will be roasted chicken and veggies
Bedtime snack will probably be a hot…[Read more]

Today is a gloomy overcast day here in central Texas. After setting record highs, we’re down at 62 and very windy today. I keep telling myself that I don’t really need to dig out my coat quite yet but I’m pretty chilled!
I was scheduled for a 10:30 eye exam but when I got there I was told that my appointment was actually at 1:00 this afternoon.…[Read more]

This is a busy week for me. I have an eye appointment on Tuesday and my support group meeting in Temple on Thursday.
My goals are to make it to the meeting as I missed it last month. I’m also wanting to pre-plan my meals. I’ve fallen back into the habit of grabbing a shake or a bar for at least two meals a day and need to stop that.
I still have…[Read more]

Today started off well enough. I did the week’s grocery shopping and that’s when things went a bit crazy. My son called while I was at the store asking me to go to his house as quickly as possible. It seems that while my daughter in law was putting the 6 month old down for a nap, the 2 year old decided to take a walk all by himself. When my DIL…[Read more]

I have no idea what today will bring. We’re about to walk out the door and drive up to Greenville and McKinney areas to see if we can stand to live either place for the foreseeable future (5-6 years before retirement).
Snacks and drinks are packed. I know hubby will want to stop in West on the way for a kolache. I’ll have a cup of decaf coffee if…[Read more]

Apparently I only though I posted yesterday!
Today’s not been the greatest of days. I haven’t exactly felt bad, but I sure haven’t felt good either. I’m having a hard time sleeping and it’s definitely catching up on me. On the good side of things, we’ve finalized our plans for the new floors, carpet and paint colors. Now all we need to do is get…[Read more]

Did I mention that today I was DYIIIIIING? OMG.
Long story short (and TMI) cramps since my mastectomy have been horrible. I never had them before. Now I get migraines, random weepy days, super-cramps and, just for fun, occasionally a hot flash.
Lovely.
So today was a super-cramp day. And I mean it was bad. I was up most of the night because I…[Read more]

Wow. That’s a lot, Maria!
Well first, I agree with your therapist. Good for you for letting yourself have a good, old-fashioned cry!
And also I’m so glad you’re having a relaxation day. Those can be lifelines in the middle of a sea of stress.
I’m so happy to see your post. <3

Last night was one of those nights that I just couldn’t sleep. So as soon as my husband was out the door, I went back to bed for a couple of hours. Now, I’m about to head to the grocery store and to pick up my husband’s jacket that he left at our son’s house last night.
My husband had his “one on one” interview yesterday and it appears that it…[Read more]

This post is quite lengthy and I don’t expect everyone to read it all the way through. I also realize my problems are insignificant to those with much larger ones. However, I need to vent and this is something I need to do this for myself!!
Recap of last couple of months. Began watching my grandson everyday after school and it’s been quite a few…[Read more]

Ok! It’s November. Just a short slide until the holidays. Time to pick out my holiday goal. Usually my holiday goal is to do the Y “12 Days of Fitness.” This year that will be PART of my goal, but I feel like I need something more.
So brainstorming a few ideas (not all these are eating/exercise related):
- I’d like to make most of my Christmas…

Oh that was CUTE!
My Halloween was pretty uneventful. I worked. Came home. The kid and I watched The Addams Family and Gremlins. Last year we got zero trick-or-treaters so I didn’t buy candy this year and guess what? Kids came to our door! I felt bad but oh well. I guess maybe next year I’ll get a small stash of Tootsie Rolls (which I personally…[Read more]

Happy Halloween! It’s a cold, dreary day here in central Texas. We’re forecasted for rain this afternoon and a downpour tonight. My son and his family were supposed to go to “Boo at the Zoo” tonight but I figure they’ll be staying home. Either way, my husband and I are going to their house for a while this evening. I have to go visit the two baby…[Read more]
