I’m thinking (at this moment anyway) about trying some butternut squash. I tend to only eat summer squashes. I do know that I have to stay away from rice and breads. Both of these cause strange and terrible noises in my system (not to mention pain). I’m tempted by oatmeal. I made some of the baked oatmeal from your breakfast cookbook and couldn’t…[Read more]

Busy day today. Babysitting our two year old grandson for several hours while his parents take care of some moving stuff.
I’m working on adding complex carbs to my food plan. I’m extremely stressed about it because carbs, quite honestly, scare me. But, I seem to stay in a state of exhaustion all the time and am hoping that a lack of carbs may be…[Read more]

That sounds like a good plan. Do you have any specific carbs you’re looking at?

First off my pledge this week is to work on adding complex carbs to my food plan. I’m very carb phobic as I have PCOS and carbs were the main instigator of my 180+pound weight gain that led to my RNY. Thank you all you doctors that put me on high carb, low fat diets!
So, in addition to that, I’ll be working on getting my steps and liquids in.…[Read more]

Hey there…I must have buried the fact that you post your pledge in the Weekly Action Plans Forum.
Sorry about that! I’ll make it more clear.

I’m really excited about the Mini-Pledge. Why? Well, because the Pledge way of goal setting seems to work well for a lot of people (if the notes following the “Big Pledge” are any indicator). And I think this is for a few reasons:
You don’t have to figure out your whole healthy week. You just have to pledge to do one thing.
Once you do that…[Read more] -

What a fantastic idea! I’m going to find my jar and start adding blessings!….. Four blessings already added. However one of them just arrived to spend the afternoon while his parents head down to Killeen to pack up more things. So I’m going to see if I can get this particular blessing to take his nap!

Ok, so today’s challenge is to:
Start a positivity jar (see forums for instructions)
Instructions (from Nik):
This is so easy and very powerful. I first heard about it from one of our very own members, Cindy.
Find a glass jar. Almost any jar will do but make sure it’s not tiny.
Tear some paper into little scraps that are big enough to…[Read more] -

My pledge for this week is to be more mindful and slowing down while eating my meals. In order to accomplish this I will need to make sure I set time in my schedule each day where that time is just for eating my meals and will utilize the Slo Mow app I have on my phone for these meals to help me to slow down while eating.
Other than that I have a…[Read more]
