  • TGIF!

I need sleep. Although we all know I’ll be awake at 6 a.m. tomorrow because that’s how my body works.

Anyway…hi. How are you? Happy Friday.

I need coffee then I will be better equipped to recap my day. Be back soon!

  • That is so inspirational. It’s very easy to wallow in grief and self pity.  Good for her.  And thanks for sharing her story!

I finally finished removing the wallpaper in my dining room. My sister-in-law is coming for a visit tomorrow, so it pushed me to finish, since it’s the first time she’ll see my home.

Had a phone conversation with a therapist today, and she’s hooking me up with some people who will help me with my anxiety issues.  Very timely since my anxiet…[Read more]

I agree with @robin-miller!! Although I like to have control over any situation where planning and executing is involved (the old thought that I am the only one to do it right or the guilt of bothering people when they have their own busy life to take care of) I have had to let go of this thinking and let others help out. I still have those times,…[Read more]

  • Actually my nutritionist appointment is tomorrow afternoon, but will keep you posted. I’ve been able to make some time for me, but not nearly enough. As far as my meals, well I planned BUT didn’t totally follow everything. It got warm this week and the warm oatmeal and soup didn’t seem quite as appetizing, unfortunately giving into not so good…[Read more]

  • Working on it. I got up early today and was showered and dressed before hubby was up. Left the house right after he did. Now I’m trying to finish up sorting all those books. And laundry. I wish the temperatures would at least get out of the mid to upper 90’s. The amount of laundry I’d have to do would drop significantly. Supposedly mid week next…[Read more]

  • Sounds like a good plan!

Yup, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and ask for help. Not a thing wrong with that and something I should do more.

Still working on the house. Sometimes I think that I will be working on cleaning out the house forever!

    Breakfast was a Quest bar

Lunch will be turkey and veggie tots

    Dinner will be leftovers.

  • Mid-week sweep!

I see today you meet with the nutritionist. I want to hear how that goes, please.

Have you been making more time for yourself this week? I know you made time for ME by looking at that e-book. I’m very thankful.

  • Mid-week sweep! How are things going?

I hope the stress is manageable my friend. 🙂

  • I have a confession to make. My daughter’s 16th birthday is STRESSING ME OUT!

    And it’s my own fault.

All she asked for was a party where she could invite all her family and some of her friends. She has a big family (her dad’s side) so this requires a hall and once my mind heard “hall” it became this huge thing. And that has brought me near a…[Read more]

Ok here’s how the day shook out. Not great but it is what it is!

    • Sausage Egg McMuffin for breakfast
    • Indian butter chicken w/ salad for lunch
    • Power Crunch Bar for snack
    • A chalupa from Taco Bell for dinner

Mostly because I just really was in an “I don’t care” kind of mood. I thought this morning about why that was and have determined it’s…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I woke up very tired this morning. I’m on day 4 of a major headache (we had to front come thru) that I just can’t seem to shake. However, I am getting some things done. I bought a 4 pound tub of peanut butter and on Monday and by mid afternoon (I’m taking a lunch break) the entire tub will have been made into protein…[Read more]

This is relatively minor. Three years ago when OAC Convention was in Orlando the hotel ATM machine apparently had a card skimming device affixed to it and someone made off with $5,000 of my money! After fighting with the bank (who thought I spent it and was trying to recoup…because, like, I would do that, #1. And #2 by the money was withdrawn…[Read more]

  • Today’s big goal: Call the IRS. (Don’t ask.)

But first…I’ve had some bank account fraud! I get alerts if my bank account balance is low or goes to zero and I did today and checked it and someone has been using my card to take Lyfts all over San Francisco. Here’s the thing that irritates me. If I, Nikki Massie, go out of town and forget to tell…[Read more]

    Did my Zumba! Felt good.

I woke up this morning, as my husband said, totally frazzled. I can’t seem to maintain a thought in my head. However, I did get my “monthly maintenance” things done. (ran dishwasher cleaner through the dishwasher, disposal cleaner through the disposal, washing machine cleaner thru the washer and cleaned the filters on the washer and dryer…[Read more]

Ok so your mother-in-law is going in my prayers ASAP.

My boyfriend has both Type II diabetes and stage 4 kidney disease (he has both kidneys but is on peritoneal dialysis) so I know how those things can complicate other stuff.

While I think your husband is right, I think you are right too. You’re a worrier. That’s part of who you are! So I think…[Read more]

Life seems to have gotten really hectic since I have a set afternoon schedule everyday. Yesterday was such a sad day between the Las Vegas incident and the death of a wonderful musician. Also, a personal situation has been laying heavy on me which only exacerbates my stress level. My mother-in-law has had an abdominal aneurysm for many years now…[Read more]

  • I’m wondering if we’ll see another heyday of daily check-ins. That would be a great thing for this somber Tuesday!

RIP Tom Petty. Your music got me through a lot.

Ok so…I’m determined to get past this mental funk I’ve been in. I think just all the general negativity in the world has been weighing on me. I have a few items I need to take action…[Read more]
