  • Today has started somewhat slowly, but I’m starting to pick up speed a little bit. I ate something yesterday that didn’t sit well at all. (I have know idea what as I didn’t have anything new to eat) I didn’t sleep well at all. I’m cautiously thinking things are better today.

I’m making progress on cleaning out the house. As soon as I get the rest…[Read more]

  • Ok so…a few things.

#1 – I KNOW THIS FEELING! When my daughter was 3 she fell off our front steps (we lived in a townhouse with very high concrete steps) and skinned her entire nose. I felt like the worst parent ever even though it was just a case of three year-old clumsies. So I get that.

    #2 – The “I don’t care” mentality is…[Read more]

  • You know how life can throw you curve balls to your plans/schedule? Well yesterday life threw me one heck of a curve ball!!! It was about an hour before my daughter-in-law was to pick up my 4 year old grandson and wham, my grandson hit his head on a tile floor!! He had a small gash on his forehead which bleeding quite a bit. I also realized head…[Read more]

  • Thank you for posting this!

I’m glad that your path is a little bit clearer. I find it helps me to prioritize things too. Especially when I feel overwhelmed and stuck. (Which is the pits, by the way.)

I’m so glad you’re a member of this community. <3

  • Congratulations! 🎈🎆🎇🎉🎊

  • That kind of tired makes perfect sense to me, Nikki. Sometimes I can’t even remember the last time I wasn’t that tired. But, because you can still function, you just keep on going. Yup. You have described my life!

Push-ups and planks are done (I have to confess, I seriously thought about skipping them today) and I have less than 1000 steps to go…[Read more]

  • I’m tired.

And I’m starting to get grumpy about being tired.

I did message my doctor about safe sleep aids. The weird thing about how my body is set up post-WLS is that I get tired but I rarely get “dead dog” tired. So I can walk. I can work out. I can do all the things I need to do functionally. But I’m tired. I don’t know if that makes sense.…[Read more]

My planning paid off, at least for today. I had my 6 month check up this morning with my bariatric surgeon and he’s extremely pleased with my progress and impressed on how well my bloodwork was. He said to keep up with what I have been doing. I talked a little with him about how it seems that I’ve become lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant and…[Read more]

  • @robin-miller, I could only find these books on Amazon. Are either one the correct one? If not, would you let me know where you got yours. Thanks.

  • Thanks Nikki!! It’s just that sometimes life throws us a curve ball no matter how well planned/organized your day is scheduled. I’m just trying to prepare myself in case this happens. I do have quite a few scheduled dr appointments this week therefore I want my daily plan/schedule to play through without any hiccups, but also need to face reality…[Read more]

  • Were you around last year when I did the study of the Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat book? (I think you were.)

If you were, you’ll know why it makes me HAPPY that you have the workbook and are doing this. That book single-handedly changed my life! My outlook on how I eat is so much more realistic now than it was before and I owe that to Dr. May! 🙂

  • Very nice plan!

I’m very encouraged by your recovery from your surgery. I hope PT isn’t too taxing.

Also, good idea to work on your resume during this time. You’ll definitely be ready when the time comes to start searching.

I’ll be back by on Thursday for the mid-week sweep!

  • You know what I love about this plan? You defined what you think definitely might happen vs. stuff that is dependent on situations outside your control. THAT is success, lady!

Sorry you have such long days. I hope that next week’s plan involves something relaxing (a mani/pedi maybe?) as a way to reward yourself for getting through all…[Read more]

  • Your meals sound yummy!

My only comment on your plan is that #’s 1 and 3 seem a bit at odds with each other. You’re saying you will follow the plan…but then you’re saying you won’t go nuts if you don’t follow your plan.

So long as that doesn’t result in stress for you, I’m ok with that. But I want to make sure Maria is being kind to Maria.…[Read more]

  • I’m telling ya…the actual physical planner has changed the game for me!

Don’t even ask me why but it has. Plus it’s a coloring book planner. I am itching to get some colored pencils to get started on that. I feel like it’ll help me relax more.

  • Woot! Thanks for starting the thread!

Today has started off rough for me. I forgot my work laptop at home and had to wait a LONG time for IT to get me set up with a loaner (not their fault), during which time a backlog of requests seemed to pile up. (Who knew the social media manager would become so popular???) I am almost caught up.

    Eats so far…[Read more]

  • I’m still working on cleaning out the house. Getting my steps done, push-ups and planks. I have 20 of my 80 ounces of liquids in.. I opted for tea instead of coffee this morning and fixed myself a giant mug to drink.

Breakfast was a homemade breakfast taco with egg and turkey sausage crumbles.

I have some ground chicken thawing that will become…[Read more]

  • Food-wise I’m sorta winging it. My fridge was on the fritz for a few days. Just long enough for my milk, eggs, cottage cheese and some other stuff to go bad. I didn’t have the wherewithall to grocery shop again this week so I will have to do that.

    Other parts of my plan:

    • Monday: I’m going to follow the 5k plan by walking 2.5 miles during my…

  • I didn’t forget! Life just gets ahead of me every now and again.

I waited until I could go through and see who all did plans every week of the mini-Pledge. (I didn’t hold it against you if you didn’t do that final, “add-on” week. That was something I sprung at the last moment!)

    Congrats to:
