Here’s how food shook out for me:

    -breakfast sandwich

    -green salad w/seafood

-a few bites of mashed cauliflower w/added protein

    -a handful of pretzels

I thought I ate a lot today but typing it out, maybe not so much…

  • I’m here!

Today is a pretty chill day. I have tomorrow off because I finally got tickets to the new Smithsonian African-American museum. I’m very excited to go. I’m going with my boyfriend though. I hope he doesn’t try to rush me through it. I plan to spend the whole day.

But today is rainy. I have the live show tonight so I have some running…[Read more]

  • I know how this feels. That’s what happened with my alopecia. Wasn’t caught in time and is now irreversible.

I do think you need some time and space to focus on your health stuff. Is there anybody at all who can help with your MIL so that you have some room to do that?

  • Mid-week sweep!

Did you get to that meeting? And how’s the meal planning going?

Sorry I’ve been so absent. I got slammed at work. But I’m BACK!

Ok, it’s been a sh** week for me. First, I finally have a diagnosis why my right hand is extremely weak and a significant amount of atrophy in the muscle (ongoing for many years progressively getting worse). The clinical term for it is cubital tunnel syndrome, which means the nerves in my elbow are being “pinched” . Ok, I thought great, now what…[Read more]

Did I mention that today I was DYIIIIIING? OMG.

Long story short (and TMI) cramps since my mastectomy have been horrible. I never had them before. Now I get migraines, random weepy days, super-cramps and, just for fun, occasionally a hot flash.

    Lovely.

So today was a super-cramp day. And I mean it was bad. I was up most of the night because I…[Read more]

    Wow. That’s a lot, Maria!

Well first, I agree with your therapist. Good for you for letting yourself have a good, old-fashioned cry!

And also I’m so glad you’re having a relaxation day. Those can be lifelines in the middle of a sea of stress.

I’m so happy to see your post. <3

This post is quite lengthy and I don’t expect everyone to read it all the way through. I also realize my problems are insignificant to those with much larger ones. However, I need to vent and this is something I need to do this for myself!!

Recap of last couple of months. Began watching my grandson everyday after school and it’s been quite a few…[Read more]

  • Ok! It’s November. Just a short slide until the holidays. Time to pick out my holiday goal. Usually my holiday goal is to do the Y “12 Days of Fitness.” This year that will be PART of my goal, but I feel like I need something more.

So brainstorming a few ideas (not all these are eating/exercise related):

    1. I’d like to make most of my Christmas…

  • Oh that was CUTE!

My Halloween was pretty uneventful. I worked. Came home. The kid and I watched The Addams Family and Gremlins. Last year we got zero trick-or-treaters so I didn’t buy candy this year and guess what? Kids came to our door! I felt bad but oh well. I guess maybe next year I’ll get a small stash of Tootsie Rolls (which I personally…[Read more]

I think my body is starting to turn on me. (Starting???)

I woke up with a stiff neck and shooting pains in my jaw and forehead. I’m just really sick of feeling crappy!

I am going to take this as a sign that I need to do better with taking care of myself. So far all I’ve had today is a slice of wheat bread w/ peanut butter. I do need to go get…[Read more]

  • So. Party’s over. (Literally)

I have a few priorities this week. I think I’m going to start following that format in the self-assessment for things I want to be held accountable to, so:

    • Eating/drinking: I need to go grocery shopping! My lack of groceries has led to me eating out way too much. I don’t like it. Not only because it’s not healthy…

  • Ok so I’ve been out of the loop. I’m so sorry!

What’s been going on with your eating?

    PARTY DAY!

OMG. It was a long day. A tiring day. But a good day.

My baby girl had such fun with her friends. Not all the family she invited (and who RSVP’d) showed up, but you know what? That’s life. We still had fun.

But I feel safe saying this here.

I AM SO GLAD THE PARTY IS OVER!

My anxiety leading up to it was off the chain, but then once…[Read more]

Yes…I get that feeling! I’m going to post in the Facebook group to remind folks that the forum is here! (That’s one of the reasons why I was initially hesitant to start a FB group. I thought it might kill the forums. I guess now I know my sense about that was probably right.)

As for me, Saturday was one of those days where I mostly vegged. I…[Read more]

  • You are so committed, Robin!

Yesterday was a great day for me. I went to church and we had a beautiful Reformation Sunday service. Afterward my church did Oktoberfest and I had a brat (no bun), sauerkraut and a little potato salad. From there, I basically hung out at home until it was time to take my daughter back to campus. The weather was super…[Read more]

Yes, and no matter how much I tell myself to relax, or that it doesn’t matter, my body says otherwise. I totally get it. I hope you find relief soon.

Ok so your post was spooky because it’s EXACTLY what I’m experiencing. Things that would not have stressed me out before do now. Things that would have only been slightly stressful before are off the charts. Most days I want to hide in bed but unfortunately my job isn’t having that.

It’s a hard thing to explain to people and even though you…[Read more]

I’ve tried different meds for depression/anxiety, with various results.  From talking to other people, I’ve heard what works for one person doesn’t work for another.  I tried Zoloft 3 years ago, and i gained about 25 lbs, so I went off it. Earlier this year, I tried Celexa and felt ok as far as depression/anxiety, but had bad headaches every d…[Read more]

  • Today is an anxious day. No idea why. Just is. I hate this feeling! I see my doctor on Friday. I have a therapist. Between the two of them I’ll see if they think I should be on anti-anxiety meds. Does anyone have any experience with those? @susan I’m not sure if you said you’d taken them before. I’m just wondering what they make you feel like. I…[Read more]
