Reporting in on week 1.
Yes, Nikki, grains are gone again. In my enthusiasm to add carbs back in, I forgot about that nasty little reason of huge weight gains when I eat them. But I’m not giving up! See this week’s pledge!

After driving over 12 hours, we stopped for the night. 3917 steps so far … Did my best with food … Thanks again for the shout-out … Sometimes I really need that cheerleader … My hubby is a great guy but he is one of THOSE people that eats as much and whatever he wants and doesn’t gain weight, so he can only understand so much the…[Read more]

Well today is my “baby’s” birthday (31 years old….YIKES! I’m not that old am I?!?!). Will be heading over to his house this afternoon to “celebrate” so to speak. He didn’t want a birthday party, so he’s telling everyone it’s a cookout. Well I have news for him, I’m going to celebrate his birthday whether he likes it or not!!! So there Marc 😝!!!

Popping in quick for “Check In”. I’d say that I did pretty good this week with eating slower and making time for my meals. However, I also discovered that I sometimes take too big of a bite and not chewing it enough (especially when eating meats and poultry). So I have begun incorporating this into my meals.

13526 steps so far … Food was mostly OK. I did eat 3 bites of my husbands dessert at a late lunch and had 1/2 of a flatbread pizza for dinner … We start heading for home tomorrow so won’t be walking but will have more control over my food choices

I wish I was a better:
- Habit maker (follow through)
- Not worrying so much about what everyone else thinks of me
- Not always saying yes to everything –learning to say no

Endoscopy went well, he took a couple of biopsies since I had been tested positive in the past for Barrett’s Esophagus. He showed me the pics he took during the procedure of areas biopsied and also a pic that showed that I still had a staple from my WLS!!! I’ll know results in about a week. All of the dinners I had planned for the week didn’t…[Read more]

Off day for me since I had my endoscopy this morning which meant no eating or drinking until after the test (which was about 10:30 this morning). Made myself an egg sandwich around 1:00 (sprouted grain bread, an egg and a little butter) and ate it all over 15 minutes. Had broiled scallops, mac salad and coleslaw (take out) for dinner–ate most of…[Read more]

Mid/end of week SWEEP! (That just means I come into this forum once a week and check on everyone’s progress lol)
Did you make your list of who to call first and questions? Have you made any calls yet?

Mid/end of week SWEEP! (That’s when I come through this forum and check up on your weekly goal.)
I like that you identified two very specific things to be accountable for. So tell me…have you been meeting those two goals?

From my view you’ve been doing pretty darn ok this week, even with a super busy schedule. But how would YOU say your week is going?

Hi Robin! Mid/end of week SWEEP!
I saw your comment about having a scale reaction to increased carbs. What did you decide to do about that? Are they gone again? How is everything else going?

I’m going to TRY to be in travel prep mode starting today instead of what I usually do, which is wait until the night before I travel to start packing (that never works out well). Besides that it’s a lovely day here in Baltimore. I met my goal of going to the lake twice this week but I think I’m going to do a bonus trip. I’d love to go every day.…[Read more]
