  • Congratulations! 🎈🎆🎇🎉🎊

  • That kind of tired makes perfect sense to me, Nikki. Sometimes I can’t even remember the last time I wasn’t that tired. But, because you can still function, you just keep on going. Yup. You have described my life!

Push-ups and planks are done (I have to confess, I seriously thought about skipping them today) and I have less than 1000 steps to go…[Read more]

My planning paid off, at least for today. I had my 6 month check up this morning with my bariatric surgeon and he’s extremely pleased with my progress and impressed on how well my bloodwork was. He said to keep up with what I have been doing. I talked a little with him about how it seems that I’ve become lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant and…[Read more]

  • @robin-miller, I could only find these books on Amazon. Are either one the correct one? If not, would you let me know where you got yours. Thanks.

  • Thanks Nikki!! It’s just that sometimes life throws us a curve ball no matter how well planned/organized your day is scheduled. I’m just trying to prepare myself in case this happens. I do have quite a few scheduled dr appointments this week therefore I want my daily plan/schedule to play through without any hiccups, but also need to face reality…[Read more]

  • I’m still working on cleaning out the house. Getting my steps done, push-ups and planks. I have 20 of my 80 ounces of liquids in.. I opted for tea instead of coffee this morning and fixed myself a giant mug to drink.

Breakfast was a homemade breakfast taco with egg and turkey sausage crumbles.

I have some ground chicken thawing that will become…[Read more]

Grocery shopped this morning (meals listed in weekly plan). Did some meal prepping and worked a detailed schedule for this week.

Dinner today were hamburgers and buffalo chickpea salad.

  • I’m hoping this week will be a little less stressful than last week. Did lots of planning and partial prepping of meals for the week. So this week my plan is:

    1. Follow through with my written daily schedule I set up for this week which includes all obligations as well as what needs to be done to finish preparing dinners.
    2. Work on my 5k training,…

  • Still working on cleaning out the house. Hopefully, I’ll be done with the office and front bedroom by Wednesday night so I can let the kids go through the boxes of cookbooks and other things that I’m not going to keep. My younger daughter is coming for the weekend and this is a great time to get this done and out of the way.

    Steps, push-ups,…[Read more]

  • I actually got to sleep in the morning, however, since I was up until the wee hours of the morning, that’s not really saying a whole lot!

Still shredding papers (how can we have this much?), giving my husband a haircut, taking a set of bed room furniture that my husband has been repairing over to my son’s. (it’s the furniture that my husband and…[Read more]

  • Today (actually the whole weekend) will be spent on working on the house. I’ve spent most of the day shredding old papers from the filing cabinet. Just right beside me, I have a box and a half to go and I know that there is probably still another box worth I haven’t seen yet.

    Breakfast was a protein shake

Lunch was a half a ham and cheese…[Read more]

  • Nik, I don’t know what to say but am deeply sorry for what you have to deal with right now and as everyone has said we are there for you just like you are always there for us. I’m in as far as what our community decides to help YOU.

    Hugs and prayers!! 💗💗💗

  • Wow! This makes my stress seem like nothing!

Having had to deal with many, many doctors and especially surgeons through the years. (a child with chronic (and a lot of times acute GI hemorrhages), the thing that immediately popped into my mind is that you need to get a consultation with a third reconstruction surgeon. If he concurs that the first…[Read more]

  • For the most part I did manage to eat healthy this week. Other than that, I didn’t do so well with planning my time, following the 5k training (although I was quite active) and didn’t finish my self assessment (and am totally bummed about this).

This weekend it is my goal to do some serious planning around my new routine. So I will be be making…[Read more]

Today is going to be “catch up” day, since my whole daily routine has changed dramatically. Need to do some serious planning for this weekend so I will feel less stressed. Definitely need to plan meals better, find time for me and my 5k training, etc. I am totally bummed as I didn’t finish my self assessment on time, but will continue to work on…[Read more]

  • <p style=”text-align: left;”>Today has been a good day so far! My husband surprised me last night with dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant. So I have LEFTOVERS!!!!! My sister called right as I was getting out of the shower and said she and my 2 year old grandson were at the park. So I threw on some clothes, clipped up my dripping hair…[Read more]

  • Wow, just wow! I had a feeling that it might be something along those lines. The first thought I had was a go fund me account! I know you may be reluctant to do that, but I can’t think of a better purpose for one!

  • Grazing is mostly better. I’m walking a LOT! Did day four of the planks today and am up to three sets of 14 push-ups each. Wall push-ups as my physical therapist banned me from regular ones. Also the planks are forearm planks for the same reason. (plus my hands and wrists can’t take the pressure of regular planks/push-ups due to bone spurs and…[Read more]

  • I’m running very late posting today. I went to my bariatric support group meeting today. Sometimes it’s hard to be there when I’m the only one that’s over 8 months post-op (2 years 9 months) and the only one who has had an RNY. BUT, I enjoy the counselor who runs the meeting (our discussion every month comes from Michelle May’s “Am I Hungry?”…[Read more]

  • Work is exciting. Thankfully the tired and negative attitudes that some of my Coworkers get have not set in yet. This year I am devising a plan to combat the grumpiness. I am the Meme Master and will be sending out Fun and positive reminders and such as the time goes on. The bulk of OT (Over Time) starts next week when people actually start…[Read more]
