  • I finally made it to a zoom meeting last night. I didn’t dismiss my reminder on Insta of snooze on accident. I did have to stay up way late to make sure I watched game of Thrones before the spoilers stated, but so with it. Thank you for letting me share my story Nikki. Even thigh I’m not active here i get so much out of watching you guys, which as…[Read more]

  • Hey! Ok so I want to make sure I understand so that I can a) help and b) fix anything that’s confusing!

The weekly plan isn’t a super formal thing. You’ve been doing it through this mini-pledge! The basic gist is that you post what you’d like to accomplish in a given week. I usually come through on Sunday evening or Monday afternoon and look at…[Read more]

  • My goal for this week is to read and understand what the  Weekly Plan is and start using it!! I’m not sure if I will be able to post my plan at the beginning of the week but hopefully by mid week.  Truly not sure what all the weekly plan entails so I want to totally understand it before I start posting.  I plan to read Nikki’s information and th…[Read more]

  • Thanks Nikki!!!  Vacation was great but back to the heat and reality!!! Ugh!! I achieved  my water intake goal!!!  YES!!! It was actually easy as for some reason I was very thirsty!!! I believe my guardian angel was helping me achieve this!!! 🙂

  • Um…I think we have graduated to maybe saying “I only like cottage cheese prepared certain ways…” Just sayin’! LOL.

Awesome that you found a few good recipes. I love just hollowing out an apple and putting some sweetener and apple pie spice in there and baking it. Then I fill it with either sweetened cottage cheese (which I don’t think you’d…[Read more]

  • Woot! You are so motivated. 🙂

  • Vacation, yay!

I think your goal sounds good. I understand it to be:

    1. Make the best choices you can while on vacay.
    2. Avoid dairy and wheat when possible.

I’d just empower you to be your own advocate on #2 and remember that restaurants and hotels are not called the HOSPITALITY industry for nothing. Their job is to please you! So make sure you…[Read more]

  • My plan for this week will be to continue my menu planning and try 2 of the recipes I found this week.  I also want to get a plan together for my return to work (sept 1) and figure out when I can work out/gym etc vs after school meetings etc.  I will put this all on my calendar for Sept.  (I also have to start my lesson plans for school so that I…[Read more]

  • Well … after a few days this week feeling sick (like really sick) I am back to my old self and have looked at some recipes and ideas for breaking out of my menu rut:

breakfast – denver omelet in a mug … will try this next week

lunch – cottage cheese with “everything bagel” seasoning (I tried this and LOVE it!! … and I hate cottage cheese…[Read more]

  • I’m with my parents. They eat screwy. Like, big breakfast on sunday after church and then no lunch… so I adapted (nuts for snack!). I’m working to keep my plan and food logging is going to save me!

    this week.

    Get 70 oz in daily.

watch carb intake to keep Good Measures index above 60 (if I understand it?) – try to keep balance with vacation,…[Read more]

  • My check in is this:  I was gentle towards the end of the week. I tried to have a good week and it didn’t feel that way but I’m on vacation right now (came to SC yesterday and am with my parents – see my FB pic/post of our sunset boat ride on their “big water” yesterday).

Rocked the water through yesterday. Walked outside a few times, but…[Read more]

  • My husband and I are working on a plan to get done all that we need to do. About to head out to look for a couple of good sized bushes to replace our small rose bushes on the front of the house. (can you say “curb appeal”?). Hubby’s going to work on his resume tonight.

Breakfast was very late (more like lunch time) and was sausage and lentil…[Read more]

  • My pledge this week is to concentrate on mindful eating. To stop and think about whether I’m really hungry or if it’s stress getting the best of me.

I’m definitely headed into a crazy season of my life! My focus has had to under go a radical change. Steps will have to very possibly take a distant second place to doing everything I can to finish…[Read more]

  • As I posted earlier this week, I did get my pledge of doing a high intensity workout done.

  • On Thursday (8/24), we will be leaving for Florida until 8/29. So, as far as meal planning this week it’s going to be difficult. Leftovers are planned for today, tomorrow and Tuesday.

I guess my pledge for this week will be to continue eliminating dairy and wheat from my diet, and make the best choices as I possibly can when eating out while on vacation.

  • Check in for this week. Eating slower, smaller bites and chewing are becoming habits for me now, so I will say goal had been achieved.

As far as eliminating dairy and wheat, I did fairly well, although I think on Friday I may have had something not realizing there was quite a bit of dairy in it. My tummy wasn’t very happy yesterday.

  • @Kspot42 thanks for all the info!! Another question (although it might be a silly one), are rest breaks allowed?

Also, I just want to say that it’s great seeing you posting again!! You were missed!!

Well… I had written that first post this morning and apparently forgot to hit save. (face palm)

I got about 1/2 of laundry done
    Work is caught up

Hubby went to see his sister who is in town and so its 10:30 I have not eaten dinner yet, I’m not hungry, nothing sounds good, honestly I really want to go to bed.

    Breakfast: Shake
    Lunch: Leftover…[Read more]

    Happy Saturday!

Today is laundry/ work/ Get ready for school day

Laundry is my goal for today. I need to get kids clothes ready for school. They need to be organized and sorted to pull out all the too small stuff. Thankfully I did some of that earlier this summer so it should not be too bad.

Work should be somewhat low key because it is…[Read more]

  • @thinkhealthy malls and stores are great! I know around here sometimes even Churches will allow you to walk in their buildings. We do that frequently because the winter roads here are NOT safe for walking and sidewalks don’t exist. Even if they did the plows would bury them and no one wants to dig them out after that. (we have enough problems…[Read more]
