Wow, can’t believe July is over already!!
First of all I just wanted to say that if you haven’t tried “Brandi’s Oatmeal and Egg White Scramble” that’s on the Bariatric Foodie website, I totally recommend it!! To me it almost tasted like a real crumbly pancake!!!
Anyway, I had this for breakfast (1/2 cup) and followed through with mindfulness and…[Read more]

As part of the Mini-pledge I plan on calling the surgeons office, my insurance company and speaking to my friend about how to go about getting a revision to the sleeve at the same time my lap band is removed.

Two questions for you:
Why do you think a meal plan is an important thing to have? (In general.)
What happens when you DO NOT meal plan and instead try new things? Do bad things happen? -

I’m thinking (at this moment anyway) about trying some butternut squash. I tend to only eat summer squashes. I do know that I have to stay away from rice and breads. Both of these cause strange and terrible noises in my system (not to mention pain). I’m tempted by oatmeal. I made some of the baked oatmeal from your breakfast cookbook and couldn’t…[Read more]

Busy day today. Babysitting our two year old grandson for several hours while his parents take care of some moving stuff.
I’m working on adding complex carbs to my food plan. I’m extremely stressed about it because carbs, quite honestly, scare me. But, I seem to stay in a state of exhaustion all the time and am hoping that a lack of carbs may be…[Read more]

First off my pledge this week is to work on adding complex carbs to my food plan. I’m very carb phobic as I have PCOS and carbs were the main instigator of my 180+pound weight gain that led to my RNY. Thank you all you doctors that put me on high carb, low fat diets!
So, in addition to that, I’ll be working on getting my steps and liquids in.…[Read more]
