Had lunch today with my nephew and his wife, who are visiting from Utah. It was so great to see them! Pretty shaky and dopey today, so will be resting at home for the rest of the day.
breakfast: premier protein
lunch: 1 1/2 slices dry toast, 2 poached eggs (didn’t quite finish it)
dinner will be salad from Walmart
having a nonfat pumpkin s…[Read more]

Time to do a weekly plan. Hopefully will help me get off my butt, and accomplish some goals. I had 9 days of prednisone for my poison ivy, which made me feel like crap, and now I’m on 5 days antibiotics for a UTI. Will start my new meds for the shaking after I’m off the antibiotics. In the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot of sitting in the hou…[Read more]

Happy Sunday! If you’ve been ding the 5k training, week one is officially in the books! Five more to go. Today is a rest day.
Except I’m not resting. I loaded yesterday (after doing my walking and my cross training I didn’t do on Friday) so today I’ll clean, but food and hopefully prep some food for next week. I’m also gonna do my planner book…[Read more]

My nutritionist wants me to eat between 1300-1500 calories and have my carbs at around 100 grams. 50% of every meal is supposed to be protein. That’s all the guidance I have received. I have problems with getting above 1,000 calories most days which I know isn’t enough for how much I walk.

I’m so glad you’re feeling better, Nikki!
I’m having one of those mornings. In the wee hours, the lady that lives behind us let her dog(s) out. She turned on her backyard flood lights. Which woke up our dog who decided going out was a GREAT idea. Usually she wakes up my husband (he of the middle of the night Milkbones) but apparently this time it…[Read more]

I’m alive!
Thats saying a lot after the past two days of cramps so bad they felt like contractions. I had to take prescription pain meds to get a handle on it (I was given them by my doc and told only to take for pain level 8 or higher.)
It took the edge off but I was still uncomfortable all night and now I’m groggy. But this morning I feel way…[Read more]

The cramps finally hit and they were BAD. Had to take prescription pain meds to get a handle on it. Did not do my cross training but today is my long gym day so I will do it today.

Pretty good. Does anyone else feel like work holidays just mean you have to do 40+ hours of work in 4 days?!

Same ol’ stuff.
Rumors are as flying all around my husband’s work. The one that’s really picking up steam is about the layoffs on the 19th. Targeting the longer term employees who still have the pension plan. Of which my husband is one. Cut the employees that will cost the company down the road (and happen to have the bigger paychecks) and then…[Read more]

Good morning, friends.
My day today it’s going to be pretty hectic with all the hurricane stuff going on, but I did want to get the thread started.
Our 5K plans as today is a cross training day, and to do 20 to 30 minutes of exercise other than walking.
As of right now, my plan is to do a 7 pm Zumba class. Not sure about eats as I’m still not…[Read more]

OK, so today was today. I got my migraine under control super fast (Woohoo Score one for the Daith Piercing) I got kids off to school ready for picture day with money and cold lunches in hand… other than I did have to run one kid out his lunch in my bare feet. I napped. then I went to work.
You all are gonna be SICK of hearing about Launch…[Read more]

Glad to hear it went well, that you’re up walking, and even managed to eat! I hope you heal quickly.

No answers yet. The dr wants me to go off of the anti-depressant, which I’m doing now. Then I need to try another medication. I’m on 5 days of antibiotics now, so I’ll start the new meds after I’m done with these. Hopefully the new meds will stop the shaking. As of now, there aren’t any answers as to why I’m shaking. All tests were neg…[Read more]

yep. So these are new and a bit of an experiment. They had good flavor but we’re too fluffy so I’m going to try again with less baking powder

That?
Was the most RIVETING daily check-in I have read yet.
Kudos!
Seriously, though. You have a lot going on. One part I can personally relate to is not having much of a life. Folks think I do because I’m always on the internet. But that’s because…I’m always on the internet.
Granted, I do have to work a lot to make ends meet. (One income…[Read more]

Slowly, very slowly! However I discovered all the boxes that I was dreading going through are full of my mom’s cookbooks. I’m going to hold off on going through them and let my kids go through and pick out what they want.
Meals have definitely been on the quick and easy side, but I have also managed to keep them healthy.
I’m getting in too many…[Read more]

- I was going to say not well at all, but that’s not exactly true. So far, 5 of the boxes I’ve gotten to are packed with my Mom’s cookbooks. I’m going to let my kids go through them (all but my oldest who’s in Boston. I’ll go through them and pick out any vegetarian ones for her). Afterwards, I’ll donate the rest to the local charity store. I…
