Today is going to be “catch up” day, since my whole daily routine has changed dramatically. Need to do some serious planning for this weekend so I will feel less stressed. Definitely need to plan meals better, find time for me and my 5k training, etc. I am totally bummed as I didn’t finish my self assessment on time, but will continue to work on…[Read more]

Agree on the stress management – let us core group of FNC help out for you if needed. And if you need more text-accountability-gym buddies, I’m in. Mutually beneficial. Or, kick the food demo to one of us and see what happens? Technology already makes them interesting. I think people are interested in learning more.
I’m a good tech person so if…[Read more]

Thursday night I got to bed a little after 2:00 am. As for Friday night, it is now 6:24 am on Saturday, and I haven’t been to bed yet. Oh, well.
Didnt get out today, not even for mail. Not comfortable walking down my steps right now. Maybe tomorrow (today?). Still thinking on Friday time, but it already is tomorrow😄
Had about 50 ounces to d…[Read more]

Yup! But sadly, I fell short on one strength workout. I didn’t realize how many extra events I had this week.

Nik, I might be able to help. I’ve worked in health insurance for 20 years and know the system. If you want me to look, send me some details about your plan – the policy would be great if you have it.
Meanwhile, I think your stress mgmt plan sounds solid – you’ve got this!

I hadn’t thought about that. If you have to wear one 24/7 it definitely needs to be comfortable!!! Once you find one then having several is a definite need!!! 🙂

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Today has been a good day so far! My husband surprised me last night with dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant. So I have LEFTOVERS!!!!! My sister called right as I was getting out of the shower and said she and my 2 year old grandson were at the park. So I threw on some clothes, clipped up my dripping hair…[Read more]

Wow, just wow! I had a feeling that it might be something along those lines. The first thought I had was a go fund me account! I know you may be reluctant to do that, but I can’t think of a better purpose for one!

So…the short version of how we got to the latest bout of stress in my life.
As you all know (and I mention, ad nauseum!) in 2016, I got breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy. I elected to have my breasts reconstructed using implants. Through my breast surgeon (for the cancer) I found a reconstructive surgeon I liked and we proceeded…[Read more]

Cross training day for me with my personal trainer!!! YAY!!! I also am posting my goals from the Self Evaluation:
Exercise: I will walk 4 times a week in the AM separate from 5k training.
Eating/Drinking: I will drink 2 bottles of water before consuming anything else.
Wellness/Stress Management: I did not have a goal at this time.
Have a g…[Read more]

Ugh. Bras.
Someone finally hipped me to a bra company that makes bras for women who have had mastectomy/reconstruction. Because that’s a whole other layer of bra struggle right there. Interestingly, you don’t need a bra post-reconstruction for the same purposes as women with breasts need a bra (women with breasts need lift. I do not need lift)…[Read more]

This day started out crazy from the moment I awakened. Let’s just say I hit the ground running.
Today’s 5k training says to cross-train 20-30 minutes. I’m going to go to Zumba again. Should go better since I feel better!
Eats:
- Spinach/Feta wrap from Starbucks
- A salad topped with shrimp and crab meat
- A Power Crunch Bar
- Meatballs
I’ll…[Read more]

I have had a good week. I did finish watching the videos and I will be finishing up the Self Evaluation tomorrow!!! On track and very happy that I did this — it has been good and helped me realize how I need to set goals and make them attainable. I also like how I am addressing challenges that I face daily and actually making them a goal to w…[Read more]

Today I had a doctor’s appointment — just check-up and everything is great!!! 🙂 I then went bra shopping!!! I hate bra shopping and today just added to that!!! I have changed sizes and need one that is wireless and that is a major challenge. Oh well — the task is done and I came home with 2 bras so I won’t need to go again for a very long ti…[Read more]

I was planning on going to Starbucks yesterday, but was too dizzy to drive. So I didn’t get out at all. Unfortunately I went to bed at 6:20 am this morning, and the cats woke me up after 5 hours, chasing a fly. So, I’m kinda tired today.
Still dizzy and dopey, so Scott picked me up and took me shopping today. Had to walk a bit slowly, but at…[Read more]

Grazing is mostly better. I’m walking a LOT! Did day four of the planks today and am up to three sets of 14 push-ups each. Wall push-ups as my physical therapist banned me from regular ones. Also the planks are forearm planks for the same reason. (plus my hands and wrists can’t take the pressure of regular planks/push-ups due to bone spurs and…[Read more]
