  • Back to school, back to reality. Sigh.

If you are following the 5k plan today is a cross train day. That means you do some other form of excercise besides walking! Our plan says 20-30 minutes.

I’m gonna hit the Y late tonight as I have an evening meeting. I will so the elliptical and rowing machines. So far, my planner book is working well to…[Read more]

I did not get my walking in today but will definitely be doing it tomorrow.  I was out most of the day looking for items for my new craft project — Garden Flowers!!!  So I did walk through several craft malls but not vigorous walking so will be doing that tomorrow.  🙂

    Breakfast: protein shake

    Lunch: chili

Dinner:  fajita meat, refried beans and cheese

  • I just signed up and did not do my 15 minutes walking today.  I will double up tomorrow and do Monday and Tuesday stuff.

  • Did you get some vacay planning done this weekend? I think you must have as it’s not on your plan anymore!

  • B: savory breakfast cookies
    L: butter chicken
    D: Creamy chicken & spinach
Snacks: protein bars, low carb scones, pb protein bites

Exercise: 25miles (at least 8K steps per day/5 days) + 2 strength workouts

  • I had a good day! I got my walking done. Everything I ate was sooo yummy too.

For breakfast I had an omelet with spinach, tomatoes and onions.

For lunch I had a PB&J quesadilla on half a high fiber tortilla.

For snack I had a lunch meat roll up.

And for dinner I had Cajun sausage and peppers.

I also prepped some spicy breakfast burritos for…[Read more]

  • Yep! That definitely counts as your 5k walking! 🙂

Sorry they screwed up. Hopefully they’ll make it ridiculously easy for you to reschedule.

It looks like a busy day today. Working about 4 hours and then cooking and tidying the house for a Labor Day family birthday cookout this afternoon.

Breakfast was yogurt and it looks like lunch is going to be cheese and grapes. Were doing steak in the grill for dinner with a brown rice casserole and watermelon.  That should met my goal of…[Read more]

Ok, totally bummed since today didn’t start as planned. I was eager to get started with designing a workout plan today and had scheduled an appointment for 10:30 a.m. this morning at Planet Fitness. Got there and was told that the trainer was off today AND the person listed on the website didn’t work there. The staff person totally apologized and…[Read more]

  • Happy Labor Day!

Today is laundry day for me. Plus “flip the mattress over” day since my husband is off and can help me out.

So, laundry and what I can get done in our home office to start cleaning it out.

    Breakfast will be an omelet

Lunch the chicken salad I made yesterday

    Dinner is still undecided

I’m adding extra time to my walking today…[Read more]

  • Good morning and Happy Labor Day!

Today begins our training schedule for the Foodie 5k! We start off fairly straightforward: Walk for 15 minutes.

    • If this is challenging for you, do your best and remember to report back so you have a record of what you did.
    • If this seems easy for you, I’ll tell you my approach is going to be to add 15 onto…

left the house/the state/my comfort zone today and plan to do it again tomorrow! (Different event, only going to RI).

  • The whole locker room/no ladies room thing is a long story. I know I’m behind on fluids today but finding a potty in NYC is tricky. So it was a balance. I may have gotten close.

i did ok emotionally this week. M&m’s were had, my GMI dropped but it recovered. I made conscious choices vs mindless ones.

Todays food options were less than optimal,…[Read more]

  • Well, yes, for the mini-pledge…but I hope that isn’t the end of you using the Weekly Plan forum!

I’ll be tallying up stuff on Tuesday. I THINK there were maybe 6 of you who did the mini-pledge all the way through (don’t quote me on that as I’m only going by memory) so I think the odds are ever in your favor! 😉

  • Best wishes for an uneventful procedure, Sue!

I found this article that has a good breakdown of carbs, and at the bottom is a big old list of complex carbohydrates for you to try: http://www.livestrong.com/article/27398-list-complex-carbohydrates-foods/

I hope that at least gives you a starting point. I’ll look forward to hearing how things are…[Read more]
