  • Happy Birthday!!!

So today is my birthday. I  am 30 years old again (ok, you might want to add a few years, like maybe 25???, cause it may be a little impossible for a 30 year old to have a 31 year old son 😆). So far today not doing too bad food wise. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, lunch was salad with blackened grouper and a complimentary piece of key lime pie,…[Read more]

  • Ok, guess this is last day for check-in on the mini-pledge. This week I did not do that well at meeting my goals, but realize that I was the one responsible for my actions. No one or nothing is to blame but myself. Therefore I am taking ownership for not meeting my goals .

  • I forgot check in yesterday. I played compete bum. I realized as I was staring at my computer not registering it was in front of me that I needed sleep after several nights of 3 hours. So I played hookey and watched movies.

This morning I woke up, went to the gym, worked out pretty well, put together an automatic litter box and am about to mow…[Read more]

Today has been a good but busy day.  Went with my husband to a follow appointment on his shoulder replacement.  Surgery was May 31st and today they finally wrote PT orders to start strength training!!!  YAY!!!  I am so ready for him to be able to lift more than 5 lbs.  Of course it is still a long road but I’m building muscle because of it!!! :)…[Read more]

@sarahlareina where are youuuu? I miss seeing your lovely face!

  • I think you’re making great progress. I see a lot of thinking about your decisions and how they impact you, and making decisions accordingly. Yeah, a burger happens here and there (to me as well) but the big thing is recognizing it was a treat and not an everyday occurrence, and moving on from there.

Post-vacay is the pits! But look, I will make…[Read more]

  • I personally think you’ve been doing an awesome job. KUDOS! (And keep making weekly plans and daily check-ins…it isn’t always the most thrilling process…but it works! Plus it’s just always so great when you have a big accomplishment to report back on.)

  • I still don’t think it has hit me that she is gone-gone. Our basset hound seems very attune to it, though.

My youngest daughter is also adjusting. She says yesterday, “I need to get used to being the only child in the house.” They fought like the dickens when they were both here, but I think she misses her sister already.

Don’t get me wrong. I…[Read more]

I like your approach. Yesterday is gone and done with. Resolving to press reset and do better from this point onward is the best thing you could have done! Enjoy yourself, my friend.

  • Hey Nikki!! Yes, made it to Florida yesterday and so far we’re having a great time!! Had problems connecting to the Wi-Fi yesterday, but all is good today.

I have to confess, I haven’t been doing that great meeting my goals this week, but as I noted in the Daily Check-in I am doing much better today.

I wanted to blame not meeting my goals on…[Read more]

Yes, I made it to Florida yesterday, but had problems trying to hook-up to the Wi-Fi. Finally was able to accomplish today. Didn’t make very good choices yesterday food wise. Of course I’m blaming lack of sleep and jet lag as the culprits, but know I made the choices so there is nothing or no one to blame but myself.

Anyway, so far today I’ve…[Read more]

Yeah, I started typing out a check-in post and got pulled away (that seems to be my theme today).

So I’ve learned this week when they give you a promotion all that really means is they load you up with so much work you can’t see straight! Oy.

I’m enjoying it, though, and it’s challenging me to step up my time organization skills because I refuse…[Read more]

  • I thought that I was late checking in today, but I guess not!

I got all my steps in and most of my liquids in before lunch. Lunch was out with my sister and oldest grandson. Today’s a stressful one. It’s the deadline for turning in the “Voluntary Separation” forms at my husband’s work. We’ve chosen not to volunteer. I imagine we’ll find out soon…[Read more]

  • I feel like I understand the difference now and have tried to post in the daily check-in post every day so I guess you can say so far so good!!! 🙂

  • hitting the water. check.

walked from the airport to the car. sweaty check.

gym? unless I go this weekend, nope. Post-vacation is so unfair.

My GMI was ok, and then I went off the rails last night. I fixed it today. Fixed meaning I ate better and made better choices. I wasn’t logging before this exercise and didn’t realize how bad some of my…[Read more]

I’m a little behind on my protein and my water so far today.  I’ll have to step out up.

My kids lived at home for college so I  didn’t have the moving out moment quite as soon.  But it does make an impact,  and when the last one moves out is an even bigger impact.

  • Mid-week sweep!

Robin, I just hate that you are under this level of stress and uncertainty, but I applaud you for facing it head on. I think mindfulness is a great goal and I’m interested to hear how it’s going. I am getting some sense of it in your daily check-ins but do you have any “aha” moments you’d like to share?

  • Mid-week sweep! You have some ambitious goals here, but do-able.

From my understanding, the GMI is comprised of a lot of factors and not just your carb intake. It seems to reward you for having nutritionally balanced meals (so even if there are carbs in there, if it’s all starches and, say, no fruits or veggies over the course of a day you’ll get…[Read more]

  • Mid-week sweep! I like the fact that you aligned having to do lesson plans with scheduling out your healthy stuff. That’s working smarter, not harder!

How’s that coming along? Are you doing ok?
