  • Were you around last year when I did the study of the Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat book? (I think you were.)

If you were, you’ll know why it makes me HAPPY that you have the workbook and are doing this. That book single-handedly changed my life! My outlook on how I eat is so much more realistic now than it was before and I owe that to Dr. May! 🙂

  • Very nice plan!

I’m very encouraged by your recovery from your surgery. I hope PT isn’t too taxing.

Also, good idea to work on your resume during this time. You’ll definitely be ready when the time comes to start searching.

I’ll be back by on Thursday for the mid-week sweep!

  • You know what I love about this plan? You defined what you think definitely might happen vs. stuff that is dependent on situations outside your control. THAT is success, lady!

Sorry you have such long days. I hope that next week’s plan involves something relaxing (a mani/pedi maybe?) as a way to reward yourself for getting through all…[Read more]

  • Your meals sound yummy!

My only comment on your plan is that #’s 1 and 3 seem a bit at odds with each other. You’re saying you will follow the plan…but then you’re saying you won’t go nuts if you don’t follow your plan.

So long as that doesn’t result in stress for you, I’m ok with that. But I want to make sure Maria is being kind to Maria.…[Read more]

  • I’m telling ya…the actual physical planner has changed the game for me!

Don’t even ask me why but it has. Plus it’s a coloring book planner. I am itching to get some colored pencils to get started on that. I feel like it’ll help me relax more.

  • Woot! Thanks for starting the thread!

Today has started off rough for me. I forgot my work laptop at home and had to wait a LONG time for IT to get me set up with a loaner (not their fault), during which time a backlog of requests seemed to pile up. (Who knew the social media manager would become so popular???) I am almost caught up.

    Eats so far…[Read more]

  • I’m still working on cleaning out the house. Getting my steps done, push-ups and planks. I have 20 of my 80 ounces of liquids in.. I opted for tea instead of coffee this morning and fixed myself a giant mug to drink.

Breakfast was a homemade breakfast taco with egg and turkey sausage crumbles.

I have some ground chicken thawing that will become…[Read more]

  • Food-wise I’m sorta winging it. My fridge was on the fritz for a few days. Just long enough for my milk, eggs, cottage cheese and some other stuff to go bad. I didn’t have the wherewithall to grocery shop again this week so I will have to do that.

    Other parts of my plan:

    • Monday: I’m going to follow the 5k plan by walking 2.5 miles during my…

  • So our first FNC Self Assessment is OVER!

I hope you guys don’t hate me too much. 😉

By my count, there were six of you who let me know that you finished it by the 15th and so that’s who went into the pot of the prize drawing and the winner is:

    Bev! (@baylorbev)

Congratulations! Please message me the email address to which you’d like your gift…[Read more]

  • I didn’t forget! Life just gets ahead of me every now and again.

I waited until I could go through and see who all did plans every week of the mini-Pledge. (I didn’t hold it against you if you didn’t do that final, “add-on” week. That was something I sprung at the last moment!)

    Congrats to:

    Maria! (@thinkhealthy)

You are the prize winner. I…[Read more]

  • Well this week is going to be nuts … meetings every day after school so a plan is most definately necessary.  First, my hubby is away for work so I don’t have to feed him (whoo hoo) so my food will be easier.  I am prepped for breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners.  I just need to “stick to the plan”. I do have a dinner meeting tomorrow wh…[Read more]

  • I’m feeling slightly less dizzy today, so I just put a load of laundry in the washer.

My “mental health” goal is to do something on my master bedroom closet every day.  I took the shelving out in April or May, and ordered a new shelving system.  It’s been sitting in my hallway for the last 4 or 5 months.  Since it’s stressing me, my goal is to ge…[Read more]

  • Still working on cleaning out the house. Hopefully, I’ll be done with the office and front bedroom by Wednesday night so I can let the kids go through the boxes of cookbooks and other things that I’m not going to keep. My younger daughter is coming for the weekend and this is a great time to get this done and out of the way.

    Steps, push-ups,…[Read more]

  • I actually got to sleep in the morning, however, since I was up until the wee hours of the morning, that’s not really saying a whole lot!

Still shredding papers (how can we have this much?), giving my husband a haircut, taking a set of bed room furniture that my husband has been repairing over to my son’s. (it’s the furniture that my husband and…[Read more]

  • Resting mostly today. My stomach isn’t right and my entire shoulder and neck area is a mangled knot of muscle tension.

My fridge broke (got it fixed) and thus all perishables are now spoiled. Sigh. Always something, like I said.

Not sure of eats yet but I’m gonna take a long walk today and clear my head. I just need some quiet.

    Looking forward…[Read more]

  • Thanks @baylorbev for starting the thread!

Yesterday was a mixed bag for me. I didn’t get my walking in (doing it today) and generally loafed but I’m pretty sure that’s what I needed to do.

  • Wow Nik … stress is word!  I totally agree with all above.  Take the time you need to care for yourself … fight with your insurance … let others with knowledge help you … your stress management plan is amazing and you deserve to follow your own advice.  We are all here for you … thinking about and praying for you!

  • Today (actually the whole weekend) will be spent on working on the house. I’ve spent most of the day shredding old papers from the filing cabinet. Just right beside me, I have a box and a half to go and I know that there is probably still another box worth I haven’t seen yet.

    Breakfast was a protein shake

Lunch was a half a ham and cheese…[Read more]

  • Medical stuff is a full time job!

There were only two surgeons on my plan that specialize in breast reconstruction after mastectomy. The first one had a full patient load so I didn’t get an appointment with him even. The second has declined. So at this point it’d all be out of network doctors, so I figure I should probably just work with the…[Read more]

  • Wow! This makes my stress seem like nothing!

Having had to deal with many, many doctors and especially surgeons through the years. (a child with chronic (and a lot of times acute GI hemorrhages), the thing that immediately popped into my mind is that you need to get a consultation with a third reconstruction surgeon. If he concurs that the first…[Read more]
