Today has been an interesting day — had an appointment with the oral surgeon and ended up having back molar cut out.  I’m such a baby when it comes to dentists that he did it under general so I couldn’t eat or drink after midnight just in case it was going to happen.  So glad that it’s over!!  I was planning on walking this evening and the we…[Read more]

  • Thanks for your suggestions … I am thinking I will continue with the protein shake in the am (I do use premier premade with a 1/2 scoop of click added) and will try to make it to my break, but if I can’t I will do what you suggest and sip during class … easier than snacking on something else

Workout in the am will NOT work for me LOL … I…[Read more]

  • @kperevosnik (woohoo drop downs work) I have a BIG problem with portion control also and buying stuff in smaller bags is nice but expensive so I buy in bulk (the bigger the better) and then I portion the ENTIRE bag out in 1/2 cup servings in to Snack size zip-locks. then I put all the zip-locks in to a box that has handles that snap over the lid.…[Read more]

Whew! almost late! I had intended on signing in much earlier however I got in to an argument with my Mother-in-law which always results in me Rage Cleaning. So far I have almost 2500 steps in so rage cleaning does good for me but it makes my day interesting. Today is my day off and I actually have time most of this morning so I’m planning on…[Read more]

  • Today has started out at a wonderfully cool upper 60s. Such a treat for us here! I’m starting my day with a dental appointment. I have a chip in a tooth that the dentist wants to fill in as it’s a bit irritating. After that it’s back to cleaning out the house. I’ve already been “yelled”  at by the dog for being 10 minutes late feeding her.…[Read more]

Well, today was Monday with a capital M. I flipped out early, but managed not to actually commit bodily harm to anyone. And I worked on breathing, venting/moving on, and letting it go.

I suck at letting it go, by the way.

I didn’t get lunch until 1 and then didn’t really eat it until 3. But, I did have my snack, and I arranged for a real salad w…[Read more]

  • Micro nutrition stresses me out! I did a program once that stressed me out so bad I think I might have a little PTSD from it. So I can safely say no I don’t track micro nutrients

My biggest challenge is figuring out when to eat/drink.  My schedule is different this year (I have 1 extra class so I go 3 classes without any break .. then have 25 minutes for “lunch” at 10:15.  I then have another class, a break (…[Read more]

  • Thanks @nikki-massie for letting me know of the mini-pledge extension!! So we are leaving tomorrow from our vacation and back to reality and regular routine (thank goodness!!!). As much as I enjoy vacations, I don’t like not having a planned routine for the day. For some reason this vacation has been a real challenge for me and haven’t been making…[Read more]

  • Since our mini pledge challenge has been extended a week, my pledge this week is to work on drinking liquids before I snack to try and keep the stress eating to a minimum.

  • Time to get busy and get as much cleaned out of my house as possible. That being said, I’m also going to take so time to make sure that I have what I need available so I don’t fall victim to foods that I shouldn’t be eating. I’m planning on making a BIG batch of Unjury peanut butter protein balls in chocolate and strawberry (mmmmmm! Tastes like…[Read more]

Started my 5k training.  Walked for 20 minutes tonight — could have gone farther but took my husband and dachshunds.  The dachshunds hadn’t been out walking because of the heat so had to not go to far — their little short legs couldn’t handle it.  🙂  I have cardio and strength training tomorrow so hope to walk again on Tuesday!!!

    Breakfast – P…[Read more]

  • My goal for this week is to continue posting in Daily Check-ups every day!!!  I also am setting of goal of cooking at LEAST 4 dinners this week.  I have to stop eating out.  Even though I have been making healthy choices and not overeating — I need to get back in the habit of cooking at home.  I will make a meal plan and grocery shop to be abl…[Read more]

  • You’ve got this week!!!  My thoughts are with you and your husband as this is a very trying time!!!  Sorry you are having to go through!!!  I know the weather isn’t helping any of this either — fortunately you aren’t close to the coast!!!   Hang in there and trust that God has a plan for y’all!!! 🙂

  • And I guess I’ll gear up to start on the 5K plan!

(as in, go to the gym… so my car doesn’t freak out when I go there again)

  • My goal for this week is to ….

    1. Plan my menu for next week and purchase and prepare those items
    2. Get my work-outs in as scheduled
    3. Try the remaining recipes I picked out last week and give them a try early this week before I return to work.
  • So this week my goal was to make a plan of attack for September … my most stressful and crazy month.  I was able to work on my lesson plans and worked on scheduling the things I know about now but unfortunately my work STILL has not provided all of the dates for faculty and dept meetings, so I will most likely have to rearrange things once…[Read more]
