    Apparently not aware enough! It took this prompt for me to realize something about myself (that I do to myself) that I just don’t understand. Anyway, I’m done. Not really comfortable with it, (which just might have been the point) but I’m done.

    This was by far my longest journal entry so far. (Even longer than the letter to my old self.) There are lots of things I don’t understand about myself. My therapist and I agree I have more than a few repressed memories, and the thing about that is that your mind reacts to those memories without acknowledging them directly. So it results in a lot of behavior and thought patterns I don’t understand.
    
    And this is why, nearly 10 years post-surgery, I am still in therapy.
