I’m working on adding complex carbs to my food plan. So far, I know that rice and wheat are not going to work. My gut actually woke up my husband during the night with all the noises it was making and, well, let’s just say that my system is not happy this morning. So, today is oatmeal day! I have a pan of Nikki’s Fall Harvest Protein Baked Oatmeal…[Read more]

I know, right?
I head off to New Orleans for OAC Convention in a week and then after that we’ll be in final prep mode to send my oldest off to college! Sigh. Times go by so fast.
Today I have my meals all planned out.
I mixed some cottage cheese with Greek yogurt (it makes it super creamy), with a bit of sweetener, a teaspoon of peanut butter…[Read more]

You can do it!!!
I find when I do well with tracking I am much more forward thinking about my eating too. Let me know if you find that to be the case for yourself as well.

Ok so I’m starting to understand better.
I asked because a meal plan doesn’t automatically = weight loss. A meal plan is good if you can get into the rhythm of it, but it by no means is the ONLY way to control your eating to lose weight. Some folks I know simply make sure all the ingredients in their home are healthy and then “wing it” in the…[Read more]

Wow, can’t believe July is over already!!
First of all I just wanted to say that if you haven’t tried “Brandi’s Oatmeal and Egg White Scramble” that’s on the Bariatric Foodie website, I totally recommend it!! To me it almost tasted like a real crumbly pancake!!!
Anyway, I had this for breakfast (1/2 cup) and followed through with mindfulness and…[Read more]

As part of the Mini-pledge I plan on calling the surgeons office, my insurance company and speaking to my friend about how to go about getting a revision to the sleeve at the same time my lap band is removed.

Since I will be on vacation all week, my plan is to 1. Walk at least 10000 steps daily and 2. To record all of my foods on myfitnesspal, making good choices for all breakfasts (I brought mine) all lunches and most dinners (I will allow 2 treat dinners or dessert/snacks only)

My goal for this week is to start exercising at the Y again on Tues, Thurs, and Sat by exersizing on the NuStep machine and go to physical therapy on Mon, Wed, and Fri. I that doesn’t sound very specific, but I just had knee replacement surgery and I;m not sure exactly what I’ll be able to do at the Y until I get there.
