I had an appointment with my eye Dr today, so I got out of the house. Last month when I was at the YWM conference in NOLA, my left eye started flashing light really bad (on Saturday). I wasn’t very concerned since my right eye has been doing that off and on for more than a year. It has something to do with the vitreous in my eye pulling away. …[Read more]

So far this week: Sunday got to bed at 3:02, Monday at 5:07 (not so good)
drinking: Sunday about 45 ounces, Monday 56 ounces
Scott took me to lunch Monday, went to eye Dr today, so good on going out so far. However, I’m really dopey and dizzy today because I’m weaning off of my paxil, so tomorrow might just be fetching the mail
about 1/2 d…[Read more]

OK, I’m late. But if I don’t post nothing will happen.
I grocery shopped yesterday and they were out of my grab-go salads, so I have to shop again tonight. But I have snacks for work and am set there. Half way completed.
I must plan the book club this week. By Thursday. I planned the first meeting and realized I needed a whole schedule instead.…[Read more]

Stress is definitely starting to take a toll on my husband and I. He’s eating too much and everything I eat or drink makes me feel sick to my stomach. Where I used to get about five hours of sleep a night, in the last two weeks it’s dropped to three. If his work would just tell us what’s going on, I could handle whatever it is. It’s the not…[Read more]

Ok — better late than never – right!!! 🙂 I had my day planned and unfortunately life had different plans for me — oh well — flexibility is what I learned from teaching school 20 plus years so I changed my plans and adjusted to what was thrown at me. All in all it was a great day and I did accomplish some of the things I had planned.
I did f…[Read more]

Starting this week I will be picking up my oldest grandson everyday at 1 pm since he’s starting Pre-K this year. I am really looking forward to doing this, but I need to plan my days really carefully. I, like Nikki, purchased a physical planner for the rest of this year and I also purchased a planner for next year. I have almost finished…[Read more]

The last few days have been hectic, so every time I went to go online to do my updates something interrupted me.
Anyway, Saturday my husband and I went to the outlets and walked around for almost 2 hours. So, I did get some 5k training done by walking, not cross training. Yesterday did grocery shop in the morning and we had dinner at some friends…[Read more]

I was just thinking about 9/11 myself this morning.
Today’s a repeat of last week’s days. I’m still working on cleaning out the home office. I was obviously being extremely optimistic to think I was going to finish it in a week.
Walking, push-ups and planks are on the schedule.
Heading to my local library to renew my card. Being in the process…[Read more]

Where to start, where to start?
Walking, of course. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t walk! I started push-ups at the end of last week and will continue adding one to each set until I reach 25. Starting on the plank challenge Monday morning.
Continuing to work on not grazing my way through the day. I was doing well with that until Saturday when…[Read more]

It’s a gorgeous day in central Texas, also! Sunny and actually not too hot!
Today’s been a lazy one. Church, lunch out and a nap!
Breakfast was a Premier Protein shake (running late for church)
Lunch was a beef tostada without the crunchy tortilla (think mini taco salad)
Dinner will be leftovers
Bedtime snack – I don’t know yet

This week my goals are as follows:
- Eat within my calorie/macro range according to my “plan” (and not eat more at night)
- Go to the gym on Wed and Sat (I already went today) and walk those extra steps the other days (including tomorrow and Tues when I have much going on .. I WILL find time to get those extra steps)

Had lunch today with my nephew and his wife, who are visiting from Utah. It was so great to see them! Pretty shaky and dopey today, so will be resting at home for the rest of the day.

lunch: 1 1/2 slices dry toast, 2 poached eggs (didn’t quite finish it)
dinner will be salad from Walmart

Time to do a weekly plan. Hopefully will help me get off my butt, and accomplish some goals. I had 9 days of prednisone for my poison ivy, which made me feel like crap, and now I’m on 5 days antibiotics for a UTI. Will start my new meds for the shaking after I’m off the antibiotics. In the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot of sitting in the hou…[Read more]

My nutritionist wants me to eat between 1300-1500 calories and have my carbs at around 100 grams. 50% of every meal is supposed to be protein. That’s all the guidance I have received. I have problems with getting above 1,000 calories most days which I know isn’t enough for how much I walk.

I’m so glad you’re feeling better, Nikki!
I’m having one of those mornings. In the wee hours, the lady that lives behind us let her dog(s) out. She turned on her backyard flood lights. Which woke up our dog who decided going out was a GREAT idea. Usually she wakes up my husband (he of the middle of the night Milkbones) but apparently this time it…[Read more]
