Happy Promotion Nikki!
And Happy New Year to any/all who celebrate. I always appreciate this time of year and enjoy the space for reflection and intention.
Still getting over being sick. Food doesn’t taste too great yet and I’m wary of too much dairy.
Egg sandwich
Soup
Apple and PB
turkey burger and sweet potato

OMG. 😳
My promotion is going well so far but work is so BUSY! Good busy but still…busy.
Today my schedule is light so I intend to catch up on a lot of stuff at work.
After work I’ll take a nice stress reduction walk before the live show (pray that goes ok…after the last one we did I’m genuinely nervous).
Eats:

So what does the trainer do that motivates you to follow through with working out?

AWESOME podcast in general. But this episode had me taking notes.
Like…actual notes.
With my hands.
It’s about 29 minutes long. So perfect to do while you are walking for your 5k training! It’s about why we tend to avoid information, even when it can be useful to…[Read more]

Today has been a good day!!! I have been to do the gym for my cross training and I also walked 20 minutes. I always feel so much better after I have worked out — just need to motivate myself to do it every day not just days I’m with my trainer!!! Got my nails done on the way home from the gym and now I’m heading upstairs to work on my craft ro…[Read more]

Ok so…a few things.
#1 – I KNOW THIS FEELING! When my daughter was 3 she fell off our front steps (we lived in a townhouse with very high concrete steps) and skinned her entire nose. I felt like the worst parent ever even though it was just a case of three year-old clumsies. So I get that.
#2 – The “I don’t care” mentality is…[Read more]

You know how life can throw you curve balls to your plans/schedule? Well yesterday life threw me one heck of a curve ball!!! It was about an hour before my daughter-in-law was to pick up my 4 year old grandson and wham, my grandson hit his head on a tile floor!! He had a small gash on his forehead which bleeding quite a bit. I also realized head…[Read more]

I will have 92 grams of protein today if I have a protein drink before bed. All I have to do is convince myself to drink It.
I finally feel like I’m making progress with my physical therapy. I’m able to do all the exercises now.
And I called and got an appointment with my gynecologist. That was one of my goals for this w…[Read more]

Thank you for posting this!
I’m glad that your path is a little bit clearer. I find it helps me to prioritize things too. Especially when I feel overwhelmed and stuck. (Which is the pits, by the way.)
I’m so glad you’re a member of this community. <3

I finished the assessment on Friday, and started working on my goals, one of which was to work on my closet shelving project a little each day. I realized some of the things I need for that are in my craft room, which I couldn’t even walk into. So, on Sunday evening, I did some very deep thinking about what I really need and don’t need in my l…[Read more]

I’m tired.
And I’m starting to get grumpy about being tired.
I did message my doctor about safe sleep aids. The weird thing about how my body is set up post-WLS is that I get tired but I rarely get “dead dog” tired. So I can walk. I can work out. I can do all the things I need to do functionally. But I’m tired. I don’t know if that makes sense.…[Read more]

Late check in. Day 1 of 3 in the conference – go figure healthy protein choices not so much. Good thing I got to stop by Wal-Mart to pick up bars since I left them all on my counter. Otherwise I could have had a single cocktail shrimp in a cup at a time. Not that Gertrude (my sieve finally got a name, don’t ask because I don’t know) can handle…[Read more]

My planning paid off, at least for today. I had my 6 month check up this morning with my bariatric surgeon and he’s extremely pleased with my progress and impressed on how well my bloodwork was. He said to keep up with what I have been doing. I talked a little with him about how it seems that I’ve become lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant and…[Read more]

Thanks Nikki!! It’s just that sometimes life throws us a curve ball no matter how well planned/organized your day is scheduled. I’m just trying to prepare myself in case this happens. I do have quite a few scheduled dr appointments this week therefore I want my daily plan/schedule to play through without any hiccups, but also need to face reality…[Read more]

This should be a quick report for today. I’m a little short on my protein goal. I have 85 grams instead of 90. That is an improvement on last week however.
I have started doing some research on writing a resume after you have been out of the job market for many years. I think doing the research will give me some confidence.

Were you around last year when I did the study of the Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat book? (I think you were.)
If you were, you’ll know why it makes me HAPPY that you have the workbook and are doing this. That book single-handedly changed my life! My outlook on how I eat is so much more realistic now than it was before and I owe that to Dr. May! 🙂
