This is so true.  I did the journaling prompt on what automatically makes you smile and happy, and when I reread it, I realized almost every happy thing also had a negative attached to it.  It’s so much easier to cut ourselves down.  The good should be more natural.

@nikki-massie I got three tattoos two years ago, in honor of my mom, who died in 2012, and my cat who died in 2013.  The first tattoo was five years ago, a butterfly I designed; that one was more about trying to have some control over my life.  I’m a late bloomer.
